I've got all the exact same times and scans as you. Based on all of pyschos research, I'd assume it means it's actually loaded on a plane, ready to cross the Pacific to Alaska sometime today (although I can't find today's PVG-ANC flight on FlightAware for FedEx)

Ok, my 17" CTO has moved to Shipped, Yippee! Showing a new delivery of Monday 19th in the UK. Can't believe that's going to happen though, that naughty volcano is still erupting and UK air space is fully closed again.

Funny really. I could see that Intel shortages were going to delay the MBP release, I even started to believe (against my better judgement) that iPad marketing was delaying things. But a volcano? I didn't see that coming. 23 Countries have now closed or partially closed their air space!

Very nice, gives me hope as well :D!

my BTO 15" i7 Hi res screen + hard drive speed upgrade has just shipped as of half an hour ago.

But they have moved the estimated delivery to next month!!! from 22nd to the 4th!!! thats just rubbish!

Having made the flight to China several times, I can tell you that a "normal" flight is anywhere between 12-13 hours. Everyone here is look for up to the second status updates, but it just doesn't work like that when you are moving equipment from one side of the planet to the other.

Unless you feel like calling someone at the ATC for specific information on exactly where your plane is, you have to give it time to get from point A to point B.

Throw in time for just getting the plane loaded and unloaded and everything scanned, well, it takes a little time bud.

Hmm, FDX28 is showing up as "scheduled" for me; 9:22PM departure local time (9:22AM EDT.)

My own shipment hasn't budged from "Left FedEx origin facility." Don't think it's going anywhere until Monday or Tuesday based on others posting similar scans; I still have a Wednesday estimated delivery date. So either it ships out on the PVG-MEM flight on Monday (which I still suspect is just a repositioning flight), or ships out PVG-ANC on Tuesday, which easily connects to several different ANC-MEM or ANC-IND flights that can connect on to a flight to BOS early AM Wednesday and be out for delivery on the given date.

Based on various posts, it seems like stuff goes from "Prepared to ship" to actually "shipped" a day later, but then gets held up with that "Left FedEx origin facility" for yet another day. I think once you get the "in transit" scans, you're at the airport. You should hopefully get another "in transit" around that 9:22PM departure, likely meaning your laptop is on its way to Anchorage. :)

Do you live in Europe because someone else posted earlier that their delivery date got pushed back to the 5th of May and that person lived in europe. I'm assuming that the volcanic ash is holding up all deliverys by air, including your MacBook Pro

If you dont live in europe, then i dont know why it would be pushed back so far

The new Macbook Pro's and the Icelandic Volcano problem!

I ordered on April 13th from Denmark my new:

However, when writing this, I do fear that the effect of the above Icelandic volcano eruption may interfere on the final delivery date in Copenhagen...

Erm, going eastwards to ANC, it's more like 7 - 8.5 hours depending on origin... That's for cargo to ANC; obviously passenger flights are going to be to/from NYC/ORD/LAX/etc and a good bit longer. The "second status updates" certainly do "work like that" for moving equipment. We've already determined that certain scans out from Shanghai have timestamps matching the expected flights, and further have matching timestamps upon arrival in Anchorage.

I've flown to HKG/ICN/NRT/KUL/BKK/SYD/AKL/etc/etc too many times myself, and shipped/received enough packages on similar routes, to know that there are significant differences for cargo. And that these "second status updates" (which I assume are just tracking specific cargo flights in this case) are indeed available.

Unless you feel like calling someone at the ATC for specific information on exactly where your plane is, you have to give it time to get from point A to point B.

Plenty of freely available data that's identical to what ATC sees. There can be long gaps over the water (though ODAPS data tends to update more often these days), but departure info tends to be accurate, and proper real-time tracking comes into play as soon as any of those flights get into US/Canada airspace. I've tracked my location in flight over the Pacific several times back when Boeing Connexion was still up and running. :)

Ordered a 17" mbp antiglare 7200 rmp the day they launched them.
Got the shipping notice yesterday (friday).

When I log in I've got my two items (earphones and the MBP).

Says "Merge In Tnst NL Til", which might mean that the packages will be merged in NL, Netherlands. The Macbook Pro is shipped via Syncreon. When I click the reference number it says that it has been dispatched and that it will deliver on May 04

I guess I shouldn't have ordered the earphones :)

Yep, i have that exact shipment also, Syncreon and May 4th. I expect that it should get to NL quicker than that estimate tho. (unless the airspace stays closed :S)

The status just changed within past 30 minutes to "Prepared for Shipment." Woot!

Well, that was fast...went to bed with order status changing to above, woke up with "Shipped" notification. Fedex now says my shipment is scheduled for April 20 delivery. I'm in Chicago, btw.

My shipment has landed in Kentucky. Although im wondering what the next steps would most likely be from there (delivered to Toronto, Canada).

Any help would be appreciated.

Ordered 7AM Thursday morning and it is still "not yet shipped". I ordered it to be shipped down here in Fort Myers, Florida while I am on vacation for a week (I live in Michigan), so I am hoping something happens today. My delivery time still says 19-23. I wish they had these in stores.......
