Depending on where you live, I'd say there's a pretty good chance it will be delivered to you tomorrow (June 11). I live in Florida, and my MBP also departed Memphis earlier today. The estimated delivery is still June 13, but my iPod arrived the day after it left Memphis, so I am expecting the same for the computer. By the way, I paid for the two-day shipping option. Hope this helps.

Edit: I'd recommend watching the tracking page tonight to see where it ends up after Memphis. If it is close to your location, you can probably expect delivery tomorrow. It sounds like everyone has gotten their MBPs earlier than FedEx estimates.

Thanks for the info. I am in JAX, FL so I figured after Memphis it should be quicker than the 13th unless it sits in a sort house for awhile. Mine left Memphis around 3:18 today and is on its way to Jax. Do you think the time of day estimates are correct even if the day isn't? I sure do not want to chance missing this delivery.

I ordered mine on the 5th at about 2pm PST. MBP 17 HD, 160GB 7200, 4GB RAM.

It ships by July 18, Delivered by July 25.

Called Apple twice now for a bit more info than just "Not Yet Shipped". They can really tell me more than I already know.

Apparently the demand for the 17 HD screens has been very high, which is delaying the orders. This information is from the CSR at Apple the second time I called, which was today.

It better get here before the 25th of NEXT MONTH.

I sure hope that you get it before then as it seems like a loooong time to wait. Too long for me I would be going nuts.

For those of you in the UK who posted above that your shipping info was the same as mine, have you noticed there is suddenly more information on TNT's tracking page but it's *older* information. In other words, my tracking history suddenly shows events happening before it left.

I don't think it has any bearing... just find it odd! :)

I just ordered one on friday. The hi-res screen was my only upgrade, and it ships june 11-13. So maybe its something else you ordered? HDD etc?

^ i think that was on 15" not the 17".

Maybe, I know it was definately the case with the 15" as I originally configured mine that way and then noticed the ridiculous deliver date so I switched it back to 5400rpm. I never tried configuring the 17" though.

The problem is with the 15 inch.

The problem is with the 15 inch.

I am new to apple products, but why do you suppose a simple 7200rpm drive would not be in higher inventory at the start of a new product launch? Maybe they felt the demand for 7200rpm would be low for some reason?

Hey Atomic-Ed, I'm in Gainesville, so my delivery comes through Jacksonville. I attached the schedule that my iPod followed after departing Memphis. It looks like it got there about 5 hours after leaving Memphis + 1 hour for time change. And then it was delivered to me at about 11:00 AM. I think FedEx says delivery is before 12:00 AM, so I think that the time of day estimates are correct, and just the actual date estimate is wrong. It would suck to miss the delivery, so I'm planning on coming home after my class at 8:00 AM and will try to watch for it until noon. You should be able to check the tracking page early in the morning to see if it gets on the truck for delivery. Good luck and hopefully both our MBPs will arrive tomorrow morning!

Is the first thing you see the message saying the fedex information has been transmitted, or do you see something while it is being built, like apple is building your order?

The only thing I saw from apple was not shipped yet status. Then the next time it changed it said Shipped on: Fedex said package data transmitted to fedex. From there I track via fedex.

Thanks, I will be on the lookout then for earlier deivlery around the same time.

@ Aniej -- The first thing I have on my FedEx tracking information is that the "Package data was transmitted to FedEx" from Shanghai, China.

was it just a generic order you placed with a few minor updates? And, how long did it take for them to build it, a day?

does it really only take 5-6 hours to ship from china to alaska? i've seen several transit screenshots that show a 5 and a half hour ship time from shanghai to anchorage. that seems really fast!

how realistic do you guys think it is that it'll arrive early? i live in CT.

shanghai is 16 hours ahead of alaska.

Ordered 15" SR MBP yesterday

Hi: I ordered a 15" SR MBP w/a glossy screen from apple.com yesterday & paid for two-day shipping. Got the following time line.

Ships by:
Jun 14 - Jun 18

Delivers by:
Jun 18 - Jun 21

Do you think there's much of a chance that it will ship from China before the 14th? Thanks much.

No, it was a customized 17" as described in my signature. I ordered very early in the morning on June 5, and it shipped on June 8.

@ Deniseinfl -- It took most customized MBPs 3 days to ship, but since it is only the glossy screen that you added, it could ship sooner. But I'm not sure...

Well time to hit the sac and hope for early delivery. Can't wait for the keynote tomorrow.
