Not including the 15" with the 7200rpm hd, does anyone have a computer that they ordered within the week of the updates (around june 5) that has not shipped? i'm getting a little worried.

Ordered 0800 the 6th. The 17" with 7200. Still nothing.

Are these babies all coming from Shanghai or only the BTO ones? Basicly when I order one on the Apple onlinestore it will always be manually shipped from Shanghai?

I ordered a shock shipping from Shanghai.

Greets to all the fellow people from the Pudong 50. :p

Finally got my tracking # from fedex. Looks like mine is shipping from the Distribution Center in Elk Grove, Ca.

I guess it is possible I could get it Monday. Probably more likely a Tuesday delivery though. I don't have a delivery date yet because they have not actually picked up the package yet.

This has been a long wait.

Getting Closer

Mine has departed from Indiana after receiving International release. Certainly this can get to Oklahoma before Wednesday June 20. I'm getting excited, almost here!

If that's the case, this is an utter joke...

A bad joke.

I'm going to leave calling them till Monday morning, hopefully things will have sorted themselves out by then.

That's certainly not 2 business days shipping! Crazy FEDEX people.

That's certainly not 2 business days shipping! Crazy FEDEX people.

I was on the phone with FedEx and they were very helpful and clear with me. They said that Apple has very strict rules for them. The 2 days shipping apply since it touches US soil. They also told me that the following apply:

  • Apple pays them, so there is no way for you to speed up the process b upgrading the shipping method and paying more money.
  • Apple does not allow them to ship on Saturday.
  • Apple allow pickups only after a first delivery attempt has been made.
  • Fedex will stick to the estimated delivery date, so much so that even if it's obviously available on Monday (it's already 20 miles away), they will deliver my laptop only on Tuesday. :(

I hope this helps. :)

Well mine shipping estimate was the 13th, spoke to Fedex on 12th and the girl said for sure will be there 13th before 6pm. Guess what never got there 13th, got on the 14th and the tracking was not updated for 2 days before I recieved it. And the worst part of it all its being shipped back cos its got a problem!:( So not sure how many more days I will have to wait to get a the new one...:(

This isn't necessarily true. Although, I guess policy can be different for every FedEx in the country. My brother had an estimated ship date of Tuesday for his MBP and his came on Monday @ 10:18AM.

That seems pretty bogus...crazy Apple people. Maybe I should have had Apple upgrade me to overnight at their cost, not just 2 day business.

I am glad that Apple has such strict shipping guidelines these days. A friend of mine works for the local university and ordered his G5 with the educators discount. Well, Apple shipped it and they saw on their tracking that it was delivered. It was not however delivered to his house, but rather some random building on campus. His wife and he had go on a wild hunt to track it down. They eventually got it sorted out and found it, but they were both pretty mad.

Time Location Status
16 Jun 2007 00:48 Rotterdam Consignment Received At Transit Point
16 Jun 2007 00:46 Rotterdam Import Received
15 Jun 2007 23:16 Eindhoven Shipped From Originating Depot
15 Jun 2007 21:02 Eindhoven Consignment Received At Transit Point

So it's finaly with TNT now.
Apple isn't paying them a little bit extra for saterday delivery so, i will get it on monday *if TNT does NOT wait till it's June, 25 just for apple's delivery date*.

I can't stand this waiting. My brother got his MBP the day before FedEx said it would come, so I think I may actually get it on Monday.

I reallllly hope you're wrong about the delivery estimate thing. :)

Me too! Mine actually left China and arrived in Anchorage this morning, and it's Saturday. So, that been said, it's moving on Saturday. Also, my iPod that i just got recently shipped on Saturday There is a good chance that it might make it to at least Salt Lake City by tonight. If that's the case, they may even move it to my hometown today. And that would equal 2 day shipping as requested. I can only hope!

 That's a seven weeks away! Why didn't you just go with the stock HD and pick up a 7200rpm drive from newegg?

Because that would invalidate the warranty !!

Laptops are fragile and more likely to have problems than desktops because of they are so compact - so I couldn't go without applecare. Also i'm not going to open up a new laptop no matter how fast the drive i'm putting in is !

I felt in the end that if this laptop is going to last me hopefully 3 years, i might aswell get the faster drive - whats 7 weeks wait for the benefits of the faster drive ?!?

I'm bummed about the 7 week wait it going to be agony, hopefully it'll arrive earlier.

I agree that if you wanted to order the faster drive with the computer... that is your right, but opening the computer to upgrade a hard drive does not invalidate the warranty. People have the misconception that opening an apple computer ruins the warranty and that is not the case. You can open the computer and upgrade a part. The new part is obviously not covered under warranty. All the other parts are still under warranty. Even if you screw something up when in the computer, the part you screwed up is no longer under warranty, but all the other parts are.

I don't think most people realize this but....

Just bought my 2.4 15 inch this morning, so I missed out since they don't ship on Saturday.

MBP 15/2.4/2X1GB/160-5400/256VRAM-USA
Ships by: Jun 21 - Jun 25
Delivers by: Jun 25 - Jun 28

This is maybe a new selling contract Apple created for you, as for all the rest of the people to replace HD will void the garantee. I know what I speak ab.

I have a custom built replacement ordered early in the morning on the 14th. It's a 2.4Ghz w/4gb Ram and a 200gb HDD. There is no date by the "Ships By" on the order status. When would this ship? Is it on hold?

Getting Closer....

Mine has made rather speedy progress. It has left Memphis and is in transit. Surely it can get to Norman, OK before Wednesday. I sure hope so. It will be worth it either way.
