Oh you're in NZ ? well i guess that is closer to China - but even so I think we get a lousy deal with shipping to the UK

what configuration did you order ?
They use TNT consignment shipping for mine, and it already left Shanghai yesterday...
I think they use TNT to get to the UK and then UPS to the door.
My tracking number is not showing anything yet - probably won't till monday - so no idea where the mbp is at the moment.
Ordered on Aug 27th. Got prepared for shipment on friday(sep 7th) and shipped yesterday(sep 8th). Shipping with TNT.
Hopefully it'll be here next week

Presumably your tracking number is 10 digits starting 80 ?
I had thought all the European shipments came over together to the netherlands and were distributed from there. In which case why is yours trackable and mine not....
Ahh, actually i just realised its saying "shipped by walsh western uk" - however, no joy tracking on their site either

I've been checking tracking on the UK Apple pager - makes senses as I'm in the UK. But just now tried the US page and there I can get a UPS tracking number! Why the difference between the two sites ???
Obviously the MBP doesn't show up yet on UPS as they won't take it over till it gets to the UK, but the tracking number has been assigned.
So now I have three tracking widgets in my dashboard
1. tracks via Apple and shows "Shipped!" and delivery by the 20th Sept
2. tracks the 80 number via TNT - shows nothing so far, and possibly never will
3. tracks the 1Z number via UPS - shows item not found.
SO with this setup hopefully I can usage my impatience by hitting the dash,, rather than constantly checking apple and apecode

No it isn't. A 9 digit code that begins with 2.

September 4th?! Thats ridiculously fast by apple standards. I ordered my 2.2ghz with a 160 gb harddrive upgrade Sept 6, so hopefully I have the same luck.
I purposely ordered a standard configuration in the hope it would be a bit quicker than a custom built one.
My friend ordered a 2.2 (standard spec) one the week before and he hasn't even got a despatch notice yet, so his is further behind... We're not sure if it is because the 2.2 system board may be in short supply for example?
