slowest planes in the world

I'm still stuck at;
10 sep 07 32 55 flight departed Apple Shanghai

geeezzzzzz how long can it take.....

The amount of time I have wasted checking and re-checking tracking since I ordered the MBP on 27 Aug - I mean I could have built a god damn macbook pro in the time.....

Of course I know I should just have the will power to leave it alone and wait till I'm surprised by the UPS truck pulling up - but really, who actually has that kind of will power ?????

so its at the european distribution centre and now I just have to entice it over to sunny england....

I ordered a 17" with hi def screen and 7200 hd options on Sept. 4 and it arrived today the 12th. I bought it through the company that services our school computers so maybe they have a better arrangement for deliveries than do individual buyers. I am in the UK.

thats amazingly fast.... kind of annoying really !

actually now i think about the reason is you have 17" screen - the 15" LED screens have had a lot of problems and i think they had sourcing problems.

I'm sorry to post here again with the same issue... but....
Can you guys see I'm crying? I've ordered my MBP on Aug 30th and it's STILL "not yet shipped"...

I really started thinking about what problems are they having... The yellowish screen problem? But, waiting for couple of days could be better than receiving a defect one, though...

Just a quick note that I received my MBP today via FedEx (Ordered Aug. 27--2 Day FedEx option).

Mine is a Week 36, stock 2.2 MBP with a Glossy LG (9C67) LCD screen with no yellowing. No gaps with screen lid when closed either. I'm pumped and happy!!:D

Have faith in Apple. They do continue to make some awesome, quality products despite the bad apples that contain some worms. Those awaiting arrival....keep your chin up and good luck!

scorp

Well, I am NOT happy... (first congrats your good news) but mine which was ordered on the same day (Aug 30) is still "Not Yet Shipped"

Thank goodness can I get mine mbp next week?!....

I Feel ya msharp.. I ordered mine Aug 28:

As of now, it's "Prepared for shipment" (i guess that's good.. but it still makes me upset)

Initially, I had a Ship date of Sept 7 - 12 (Notice today's date...) and an arrival date of Sept 11-18

Yesterday they changed it to Sept 14-18 for ship/ Sept 18-24 for arrival:mad::mad:

Yeah, it was delayed for some reason...

i just ordered mine yesterday,
estimated ship september 20-27 !!!
I hope I get a good screen *LG* :)

Has your order status changed any? Just asking cause we both have the same ship by dates and customized 2.2 ghz. As of now, its still not shipped for me. If nothing changes by today, it would still be on schedule, but not early like I was hoping.:(

no.... that's too bad..... how long does it take to get your replacement?

P.S. I thought they've already sorted out this issue by using LG panels....

As far as I know, it's still completely luck of the draw.

If you have a screen that is yellow on the bottom 1/3, you'd know it.

Get an LG screen and you'll swear that Apple laptops are superior to other laptop company's screens and design. Get a piss-poor one and you'd be like, "There is no way I'm dropping $2,000 on THIS." These problems are absolutely not within manufacturer spec/tolerances. If a Dell had the same screen, at least you can console yourself by saying that the Dell is only $700.

The dirty secret is that ALL BRANDS SOURCE THE SAME LCD SCREENS in general. Meaning, on the Dell forums there is an WSXGA+ screen for a 15.4" laptop, the vostro 1500, that everyone swears is amazing....dig a little deeper and it's....an LG screen. So it is very much luck of the draw--the maker of the LCD screen + the particular resolution. Apple is no better and no worse than every other laptop maker in this regard. They source multiple suppliers to keep up with inventory and production demand, so there is absolutely nothing you can do except pray that you get an LG screen in the particular case of a Macbook Pro.

On another laptop at another resolution, you can read the forums and the conclusion will be that you should pray that you get a Samsung WXGA+ 14" screen instead of an AUO.

On the M1330 most people seem to prefer the Toshiba LED 13" screen compared to the Chi-Mei Optics (CMO) screen.

In short, it's all about the OEM (the maker) of the LCD screen and not about buying an Apple laptop, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it except order 5 laptops (I'm on #4) to get an LG screen + one with acceptable manufacturing tolerances.

Seems like people usually get theirs within 17- 19 days from the day they ordered it. At first I really wasn't obessing over getting my MBP, but now I've been checking my order status every hour when Im online. I think i might have go to an Apple retail store and fiddle with the laptops to calm my fix. Damn you Apple!!!

Don't do it! it'll make you go home and want it more lol

What are the chances of an apple store letting you check the type of LED display on the 15" before buying?
I want A 15" but apparently the LG display is the better panel. I live several hours from an apple store but would be willing to drive there (Seattle or Portland) if it would snag a preferred MBP (as opposed to having to go thru apple online).

hello
Well i placed my order on the 16 th of August and have been informed that it will still be another 4-5 weeks due to the fact i ordered a 7200 Harddrive...are others having to wait almost 2 months due to increasing the harddrive speed?

my stock 2.2 is supposed to ship on thursday. i cannot wait.

No...... that is tooooo bad...

I ordered mine on Aug 30th, which was shipped on Sep 14th. Estimation said I'll receive it on this wednesday.

I've ordered a 7200rpm 160GB HD.

dang..i am in Australia and work for a university so placed my order with the apple store on campus to take advantage of the discount. Not sure if being in Australia makes any difference but still I am sure the wait will be well worth it

Hello there,
No I just checked my shipping status, no change whatsoever... its supposed to ship out on the 18-21st so who knows....I was hoping early as well, but I dont see that happening, I really dont mind when it comes even if its a tad bit late....as LONG as it doesnt have a yellow screen *prays* :)

The beginning of my shipping period started today, and as of now, it hasn't changed. I'm starting to get an eerie feeling that I wont recieve my MBP until October, which would be rather disappointing cause I would have just waited unitil Leopard came out. Oh well, lets hope Apple comes through in the clutch.

Well, mine has been shipped on Sep 14, 2 days later than earliest expectation (Sep 12 - 17).

However, 3 days later, it's still in Shanghai according to FedEx log.!!!

I ordered mine on Sep 7 and today is the first date of my shipping period, Sep 21-24... but the order status part of the UK Apple site is "temporarily unavailable" so I can't check my status. :(

Just to follow up, mine (ordered on Aug 30 with 7200 160G HD) has arrived! But I'm currently working so I won't be able to see the package until noon!
