Question for the people who received their phones. Was the apple delivery date more accurate or the UPS ? Apple website says delivery on 22nd November while UPS says "end of day on 17th November" .

Phones in Shanghai at the mo.

Looks like it’s on the move again after only a few hours in Incheon...

That’s just a few minutes ago too. Next update should be in about 12-13 hours.

Looks like you probably made the 11:24pm flight from Incheon to Anchorage.

I got a date of the 22nd on Apple, but I think that will change. I have a departure scan of 9:51PM from Zhengzhou, and I see that there was a flight that took off at 9:25PM, so I wonder if my phone is on that flight.

My delivery date just got bumped to the 17th. I guess I wasn't on that flight out of Zhengzhou, because I just got an arrival scan at Shenghai.

When you say bumped to 17th is that the UPS date you're talking about or Apple date? The Apple site is still quoting me 22nd Nov while UPS says 17th

I'm so confused by the shipping routes. Are there times the phone goes from Shanghai directly to Kentucky? Does mine still need to go to Incheon? Mine departed Shanghai at 9:35pm on 13th. I have no idea where it's headed though.

Sorry for not being specific. The UPS date is showing the 17th. Apple is still quoting me the 22nd as well.

Just from reading the tracking posted in this thread I believe the routes are:

Zengzhou --> Shanghai --> Anchorage --> Louisville --> Home city or

Zengzhou --> Incheon --> Anchorage --> Louisville --> Home city

Somebody on another thread mentioned a route from shanghai to Alaska and one had shanghai to Kentucky.

UPS times are more accurate. The delivery fluctuates a bit as it depends on clearing customs. Once you hit anchorage it is reliable and fast.

My phone arrived in Louisville, KY yesterday at 9:18 am but never left there today. Guess it’s still gonna be the 16th after all till I get it.

I think we're in the same boat. Got to Louisville at 9:12 am yesterday, but has been stuck awaiting clearing agency review since. It's strange because my wife's phone left Zhengzhou at the same time mine did, on the same flight, but hers is still stuck in Shanghai now. Interested to see if they end up getting here at the same time.

Seriously! This has been the most BIZARRE Apple ordering escapade I've ever experienced. All the way down the line.

Remember the days when it would ship from China and nearly instantly show up in Anchorage then in your hands the next day? I do.

Will never understand how I got such a bad shipping date despite buying as soon as Apple came online.
Will never understand why some got bumped 2-3 weeks and I and others didn't.
Will never understand why phones are sitting in China/Korea - is there some disaster there that I don't know about?

Signed - Sitting in China for nearly a week and expect the same for Korea.

Is there anyone who is stuck in Zhengzhou, China since 9th?View attachment 734828

*raises hand* Try the 8th. Other phones that shipped on the 10th have already left China.

I'm trying to get answers from UPS because this is beyond unacceptable. I've never had an Apple order sit not moving for FIVE days now after shipment, with no clear reason, no compensation offered, just piss poor handling.

This is a $1000 package that I'm now responsible for. I'm supposed to just sit and watch no movement for 5 days? In any other context that would be considered lost.

Mine shipped on the 10th and has also not moved...It is beyond bizarre and aggravating!

Why would they compensate YOU? You didn't pay for shipping, Apple did. But the reality is 1) UPS isn't responsible for customs delays and 2) UPS's contract with Apple likely guarantees delivery 10 day from pickup. So it could sit on the runway for 5, 6,7 days and still be within contract specs. It only takes a day to get a package from China to anywhere in the U.S. 3) Apple did not guarantee you delivery until Nov 17-24. My calendar says it's Nov 13.

Also you are not really responsible for your phone yet. It's insured and requires signature for release. Plus you can dispute with carrier or charge card if not delivered.

Apple says 22nd for me too. Ups says end of day 17th. Mine had the same departure scan and arrived at Shanghai at 10:51 , same for you?

My phone is in the same batch as yours. Let me guess... space gray 256, paid in full, waiting in OIP since right after the online Apple Store opened on 10/27. Watching later IUP, carrier, and store walk-in orders jump your preorder for the last 2 weeks. ;)

I think things look good for Friday, unless we get nailed with a long customs wait somewhere or severe weather at a hub.

After sitting in Korea since 11/10, this morning the status changed to...
Incheon, Korea, Republic of 11/13/2017 6:50 P.M. Departure Scan

Maybe this flight?
https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS53/history/20171113/0918Z/RKSI/PANC

UPS53 Departure: Mon 06:00PM KST Arrival: 07:46AM AKST Mon

Scheduled to arrive in Anchorage 5 minutes early, this morning.

:^)

Arrival estimate originally was 11/17, jumped to 11/14 when shipped, went to 11/15 while in Incheon, is now 11/16. So although it was frustrating to see the movement of my iPhone stall out in Korea, it's still on track to be a day early than the earliest promised delivery when I hit the order submit button.

I’m in the same boat. I requested for my package to be held at UPS for pick up. Been waiting for movement for days I don’t want to sit waiting for a truck
