I'm not really sure why you are calling Apple? When you 'hit' the pay button, you knew it wasn't going to be delivered until at the earliest 11/17, what are you expecting them to do? I have one coming Friday 11/3 and one 11/17 - 11/24, I'm not stomping around mad at a company for not doing anything yet as we are 2 weeks away from 11/17.

Lol my husband and I both sat side-by-side on our respective iMacs to preorder and our orders went through at about 3:10EST. My order took longer because Apple Pay on Safari wasn't going through, so I had to manually input my CC info of which bumped me to Nov. 17-24th. He, on the other hand used Firefox and is receiving it Nov. 3rd. I was very bummed to say the least, but he said I should take his phone instead when we receive it on Friday because he knows it means a lot more to me than it does to him and he said he'll just wait for my order![]()
I’m just kidding.....I know that.The people who answer the phones have nothing to do with the actual work involved in bumping ship dates up. So the calls aren’t distracting them from doing their jobs. That having been said, I’m not among those who called Apple. I’m just waiting to see what happens.

I"m sorry but you even say its your sob story...it's clear you are trying to guilt them into telling you the actual delivery time vs. their conservative ETA.Finally i got in touch with chat last evening and lady asked me to get in touch with phone support. Called one of them, told him my sob story and he heard. Then he disconnected.
Waited for him to call back, he didnt. Tried again in a hour. Connected to another agent and told him my sob story again 3 times. He at one time said he can only possibly cancel the order as only thing that he could do, not bump up the date. I pounced on that and told him how could he possibly cancel when he couldnt do anything else.
Long story short at the end of it he said someone from management would call me in 24 hours and see what they can do. I am not expecting any call, but deep down a small glimmer if date can bump up.
But more or less i have given up on getting a launch day device.

I'm in the exact same situation as you and tried asking yesterday for a day or two bump. They said unfortunately there is nothing that can be done since the phones are already using "the fastest shipping option available".Am 17-24 but will be leaving for our Thanksgiving vacation on the 17th, and not returning until the 29th... Not sure how to handle that, will try giving Apple a call in a few days to see what they recommend. Ideally they will bump us up a day or two, don't really care about 'launch day' (have done that, don't sweat it any more), just trying to understand how to get the phone when I am not home. Perhaps I can route it to the first hotel, but will only be there for 4 nights, so it gets complicated.....

Just got off the phone with a senior advisor regaurding the shipment status of my phone(They were spouse to follow up days ago) and I asked about the error that (Most of us) had regarding the issue.. he explain that there would be plenty of phone getting shipped along with the pre-orders that we should be seeing a update in dates in the forth coming with some that could still get "moved" as early as Friday-Sat shipping... I then asked about Sat Shipping and he said it would be approved according to dates received(I'm guessing he is talking about when the order was placed).. He also said not to worry that we should see the phones before the 17th as they just plotted windows based of the volume not so much the window.. He did say that calling will do nothing about getting yours in sooner or a spot and that its all based on volume no one has a "Advancement" everyone is getting treated the same.. They understand there was a big issue with the servers but there is legitimately nothing he can do to make the process faster.. It was a win-lose situation.. He offered me a Wireless charger though because of the issue's that occurred ..![]()
