I would not trust anyone in a "mailroom". No offense to the folks who work in there, but it will be easy to tell it is a package from Apple.
Sorry, when I say mail room I just mean the room in my apartment building where the ups and fed ex ppl put boxes for the tenants to pick them up. No one is working there. It’s the room between the outside and the units where ups and fed ex leaves packages. Only ppl with access is tenants with keys to the building

For those who are curious i've been having my Apple UPS shipments held at the UPS center for pickup. Since I live so close to the hub I usually get UPS deliveries after 5PM. Having them hold it lets me pick things up right when they open and I don't have to worry about anyone snatching packages off my porch if I miss the doorbell.

Then that is a BIG HE*L NO, do not leave it in your mail room!

Wow! Happy for you guys! I'm starting to wonder if something will change for me.

I got to the "We have an iPhone for you" point in the order process and took a screen shot of it 12 minutes after the ability to order started (3:12 am here on the East Coast). Getting a Verizon 256GB Space Gray. I used the Apple Store app on my iPhone.

I was able to order one for my son before that, using his iPhone. His phone got to the same point - "We have an iPhone for you," at most, 3 minutes before my phone reached that point. He's getting his on November 3 and I'm in the Nov 17 - Nov 24 slot.

I’m IUP. No movement. Starting to wonder if "We have an iPhone for you" didn’t exactly mean that "We have an iPhone for you".

Looks like I need to get on the IUP next year. Paid in full, AT&T, 256 GB, Silver, :15, November 17-24 with no changes or charges at all. :(

I feel like I can't read this thread anymore because it just makes me jealous!

Same here haha. And yet I still look, I still get excited when I hear of people getting shipment bumps, and then I go check my order and get sad again. It's a vicious cycle haha.

my tracking just updated from clearing customers to now i ahve a departure scan time and delivery of nov 6th again.
Now that I ahve the departure scan, I can see if i can track the flight my phone is on at flightaware.

Let me know if you can, my departure was at 11:10pm from ZhengZhou, China, but i cant find a flight with that info :(

we are surprised, because Apple has told me personally... that priority is based on when order was received.. not method of payment.

I would have loved to join the IUP, but it would not work. So I opted to Pay In Full.

But clearly as we've seen for the past two years, that's not the case. The app pre-approval was meant to expedite IUP orders...which is what is happening now.

That does not been it is proper. I pay full price and add AppleCare+. They get their money now. The guy that is paying monthly might expire tomorrow, good luck getting the balance.

Never said it was proper, but the surprise and shock is just laughable. IUP members are expected to purchase a phone every year, and really feed into the Apple ecosystem. That's why Apple values them - they're lifers.

Check your credit cards. Mine just got charged even though the site shows 11/17! Hopefully this means I get the phone next week! The status changed from Processing to Order In Progress.

Yeah the trend I'm seeing is those of us in the 11/17-11/24 bucket but are NOT part of the IUP are not seeing movement. Those in the same release date bucket but ARE a part of IUP seem to be getting really nice early/mid next week shipping dates. :(

I really want to sign up for the IUP but I was unable to do it beforehand since for some reason the one carrier that it wouldn't work on was T-Mobile. If I was on any other carrier I could have signed up for IUP prior to the iPhone X launch. Now I have to essentially buy the iPhone X at full price (which I have done) and then I was told by someone at the Apple store that you can bring it back and they can process a refund on it and then essentially re-buy it under the IUP.
My card just got charged. I paid in full this year.

Last year people in the IUP complained because they didn’t get special treatment.

Even though they were able to reserve in store before everyone else and get the most in-demand models.

Moral of the story - Apple fanboys are never ever happy.

Mine still shows OIP delivery date starting 17th no charge

I’ll just change my delivery to be picked up at a UPS store since I know I’ll be out of the house all day Monday. Will it be available for pick up that Monday as well?

So does mine, but Apple doesn’t charge your card until it ships. The status might not change until shortly before it arrives. I’m guessing they have a legacy system that doesn’t update in real time when your card is charged.

Not necessarily. A lot of UPS stores get their deliveries / pick-ups at end of day. You could actually get delayed a day by arranging for pickup at the store. Only way to know for certain is to call your UPS store.

On the plus side, if your local CC has early morning hours, that's the fastest way to get your phone. :)

My Creative Director walked in this morning and told me his phone was coming monday. We originally both had 17-24.

Hes an IUP :(

Here is that trend I was talking about hahaha. If I were apple I would definitely try to speed up the orders for those people who are part of the IUP over those who aren't. I mean, that's kind of the purpose of the plan and they want to keep those people happy and buying new phones each year. I'm just jealous of them since I'm not yet part of the IUP but was planning on joining with the iPhone X.
