I switched from 12 mini to regular 13 and feel that i was losing so much by going with the mini in terms of the screen and info absorption.

Maybe there is a difference with other sites, but two that I checked, including MR, the only difference between a 13 and a 13 mini was that on the 13, I had two extra lines of text at the bottom. The width of the 13 was totally unutilised over the 13 mini. It was shocking to see that level of laziness. Call it what you will, but Android phones utilise the same width so much better. Since the only difference with the larger display was two extra lines of text, and I am currently not having old eyes that need larger text, I gladly saved USD 200 and went for the 13 mini.

Its growing on me. Despite the 5 hour SOT, I love the form factor.

Yeah, i used to have se2 and that compared to 12 mini was not worth the price difference - lines were exactly equal more or less.
But when i first tried iphone 11 of my friend as a navigator map in my car - i was so shocked. Because instead of only seeing my street, i was able to view the whole neighborhood.
But i agree that web browsing doesn't get any better with the screen size - Apple is bad at utilizing the extra screen. You might also remember iphone 8 and 8 plus - there was literally almost no difference in the number of apps on the screen, it is just 8+ had wider gaps between the icons.

The 8+ looked so huge I never even bothered to pick it up and see. ?

I am glad apps such as Maps are using the extra width and height on the larger devices.

I have to say the 12/13 minis are best used case-less. I used an Apple case for a while but I’m really digging the 4S feel. Friction from glass works better for me. The leather is slippery right now.

Wouldn’t a wallet and case less be the most ideal for grip and some umph

I got a 13 mini but the screen was noticeably dingier than my 12 pro so it immediately went back 2 hours later. was also multi tint, reddish up top and yellowish at the bottom . The keyboard looked jaundice-y. Too easily tint shift off axis too

I’ve got gift cards to expend but - Think I’m just gonna stay put

I am thinking of adding a wallet, but frankly, I have no use for one. And grip-wise, I’m golden with it as is. In fact, right now, the Apple leather case is slippery at the back. I’m thinking this would take a while to become grippier.

I really like this design and form in the hand. I wish sense prevails and people buy these devices in numbers that makes Apple make them or at least innovate in this form factor. 6.1 is borderline phablet, no matter how much people love it. Of course we will love a 4K display. But can we use in our hands? Hands are supposed to hold what hands can hold and operate comfortably. Phones are often needed to be used single-handed and for that, the 8 was pushing it and the mini is perfect.

The mini is an absolute delight for single-handed use without a case. With a case, it’s okay and better than any other.

I agree, hopefully the 13 mini sells well so we will see a 14 mini, 15 mini, etc.
I was in my local Apple Store last Friday, and overheard a customer asking one of the staff if the 13 mini isn't selling well. The employee said, to the contrary, that they 13 mini is selling very well for them- he said it's a hot seller for them actually. Hopefully that translates across the country and globe, and Apple will keep the mini in the lineup in the future.

I tried a 13 Mini for a week and it was fantastic- the slightly extra thickness was great for grip and feeling like a solid device- the screen was slightly better than my 12 Mini, amazing colors, no weird color hue, etc. I ended up returning it as buyer's remorse got the best of me as my 12 Mini was still a perfectly amazing phone, and the extra cost even after potentially selling my 12 mini didn't seem worth it. But I still sit here and consider buying it again, since it was a nice upgrade with the added storage, better battery, etc.

Same here. Ended up returning my 13 mini. While it’s an awesome phone I’m just drawn to my 2020 se. Watch me go back and buy another 13 mini in a few weeks. ?

Oh, these posts make deciding so much harder! I was absolutely certain a year ago that I would get a 13 mini when it came out, upgrading from my SE 2020. But... but... but... the one thing I know I would use ALL THE TIME on a Pro is the telephoto lens. Though there are several other things that are technically more advanced on the Pro, I would forego them all for the perfect size and weight of the mini. But... but... but... the telephoto! Arrrrgh!

I should just go ahead and get the Pro, with the expectation to return it if after a few days I just can't deal.

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, wait, it's you! So the decision not to get the Pro turned out to be a good one, it appears! That's great!

Have you held the pro? IMHO it isn’t even that heavy. And after a while you’ll get use to it. If you really want the tele lense. I’d get the pro. So you don’t end up missing it I’m the long run.

Telegram and a few other Chinese apps that still were running in the background
I had read your post wrong.i now understand better.telegram is bad ? No way to block the background activity?

Btw. Could you test sth for me ? It's important ;)

could u pls install This app ,then scroll a bit to "pressure",and press on the display itself with your finger.if the phone is sealed ,the pressure should rise up...which isn't the case in mine

Today swapped from the iPhone 12mini to the 13mini. The camera IS noticeably better. Battery as well but a little unfair since my 12mini was 90% battery health anyway. Oddly I preferred the 12 mini without a case but the 13mini feels better with it. Solid, perfect weight, perfect size for me. I wanted to get the 13 pro so bad but there's no way I could go from this weight to that. Much more of a powerhouse phone this year. Screen is great, looks almost the same to me, but the overheating is gone.

What’s your 13 mini’s battery health now after the first 3 months?

I find it strange, maybe because I’m new to wearing glasses to read almost daily or drive at night, that people with glasses feel glasses is to larger text when it’s meant to clarify what you read mostly ~ am I wrong?
He is probably talking about another kind of glasses, not myopia or presbytery but magnifying glass or sth ig

I’m still on iPhone 12 mini. Also your app has absolutely no privacy details, since I don’t need the app and no privacy details personally I’ll pass on downloading until the privacy details are filled out the app updated (speed is in grams not m/s).

Those pictures it’s hard to see anything you’ve mentioned.

But with so many screen issues - I’m shocked Apple approved that specific phone to be released for sale.

Curious if you tried dark mode to see if there discolouration continued?

If you’re talking about « pression 1013.16 hPa », it’s the atmospheric pressure and not the one applied to the screen.
Moreover, force Touch doesn’t existe anymore on last devices.
You can check variation with altitude and weather change.

Totally.

They should keep it in the line up for people which want the latest and greatest in a small form factor. And no Android Phone has that. I think some people will switch because of the Mini. But from rumors SE3 will not get a redesign but the 4.7inch old LCD form factor with TouchID. And no iPhone 14 Mini. But maybe the generation after that. Who knows. The 13 Mini will be quite up to date for a few years. And hopefully then there will be a similar device to the 13 Mini. Or a folding iPhone which folded is as small as the Mini.

We have hope, potentially. The Oppo Find N is a foldable yet it's MUCH smaller in all dimensions than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and although it only sold in China, it was sold out in less than 12hrs there! Something both folds from Samsung of every generation could not accomplish. Then again that may just be patronage amongst citizens and native company vs a Korean company.

I still don't believe/trust folding screens is the way to go, too many moving parts too many points of ingress for dust, water and other particles to affect folding mechanism and build quality lasting over a few short years. I think rollable screens is best - if done right.

iPhone SE 4 = a 13 mini with 1 camera, no MagSafe, no FaceID but TouchID underscreen (if cheaper in 2yrs) or thicker power/sleep button.
