What blows me away is how much more people want the 5.5" phone vs the 4.7" one. I wonder if its the size or the features that are winning them over the smaller one.

I get the sense that it's the features more than the size. Battery life is probably one of the most common complaints I read around here, and the 6+ has substantially more battery life than the 6. The OIS camera is also something that people have been asking for.

Personally, I prefer the size of the 4.7, but if I'm paying hundreds of $ for a new phone, I'm going to want top-of-the-line features. That's the only reason I feel a draw to the 5.5. If the 4.7 had similar battery life and OIS, I would not consider the 5.5.

4.7 for me since I carry an iPad anyway. The 6+ wouldn't be able to replace a tablet for me, so it would just be a bigger thing to carry around..

I will be jealous of the battery life though

4.7"

The 5.5" renders things above 1080p and then downsamples them to 1080p. This impacts performance and UI fluidity.

Is this fact? You already own the device? To me it's hard to make that statement without proper testing.

Getting the IP6 4.7 64GB. Compared to my IP5s it will be plenty big enough!
Here is a side by side….

The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus looks and feels much bigger, and it's harder to hold one-handed. It has a 1080p display, though sleuthing from developer Steve Troughton-Smith has already discovered that these images are actually being rendered at 2208×1242 and downscaled to 1080p. The phone uses a new “3x” graphics mode that calls for assets three times the resolution they would have been on a standard iPhone. Apple used the same method to avoid scaling problems when moving from standard displays to “Retina” displays (2x mode).

We didn’t see any visible blurriness as a result of this scaling, though some UI animations and transitions seemed to be a little choppier than they are on the iPhone 6 or our iPhone 5S—we’ll need to wait for our full review to see just how the A8 chip handles the resolution change. On-screen buttons and other elements on the 6 Plus are a little larger than they are on the 6.

Getting the iPhone 6 Plus in Space Grey with 128GB @ full price.

I feel like the most sensible choice is the 64gb, but when I'm paying this much, what's another $100 for a crazy amount of storage :apple:

I am for seeing a TON of iphone6 plus returns for the standard 4.7". Having a Note 3 the last year, I can honestly say I have never met a person with an iPhone say they liked my screen size. It was always way too big and would never want to carry such a large device.

I definitely recommend every one out there to go to a store and hold the Note 3 before buying the plus!

I just did this. I was so set on with plus due to the battery and I kept going back and forth. I went to Best Buy tonight to hold the Note 3 and it made my mind up for me. My paper cutout did not do any justice. That thing is HUGE.

I think we will see it time and time again. The paper idea was a good ball park, but until you actually use a phone this size you won't know.

I never hold my note like i held my previous iPhones. I ALWAYS have my pinky resting under the device to support it, which I never did with an iPhone. I am thinking about switching to the iPhone due to all the continuity features and if i do, it will definitely be the 4.7". The note 3 is just too big for every day use.

Do not compare the Note 3 to the 6 plus. The plus is narrower than the Note and the Note has a slitely larger screen.

definitely the 4.7. I owned the lg g3 for a few weeks and it was much much to big to be used as a daily driver, and I have large hands. If I can't reach all parts of the screen with my thumb one handed, its not for me.

I bought the note 3 to try out the bigger sized phones. Dude while it'll fit in your pocket it feels like you got a boner all day. I mean you know the phone is there ALL DAY. Sometimes when sitting down it's pretty awkward as well.

I returned it and switched back to the iphone by the way. I just wanted to test the screen size. yes I realize that is stupid.

With that said I think I'm going to get the iphone 6. If you're concerned about the camera features you should be buying a real camera anyway.

I have pockets in my pants that will easily fit the 6+. Cant see any negative of getting the 6+ myself

Ok, I'm getting the iPhone 6 Plus. But I'm not calling it that. I'm going to call it the iPad Nano because that's what it is and that's how I'm going to use it. I rarely use the phone part of my iPhone. When I do talk to people it's usually many family, and since many of them live far away its usually FaceTime so they can see our infant daughter. Since I'm getting an Apple Watch I will rarely have it out while waking around campus and town. The mockup I made out of cardboard glued together fits ok in all the pants I tried it in. It fits ok in my hands too. Would be perfect if it was just a little smaller. Just about everyone I know who has made a mockup has said that. Honestly I'd prefer 5" but 5.2-5.3" would help a lot. Here's to hoping the bezels are slimmed somewhat in future versions. Half inch shorter and quarter inch less wide is golden.

Based on the mockups I printed out, it's likely going to be the 4.7 for me. The 5.5 just doesn't fit well in the chest pocket of my various jackets.

I'm definitely going for Space Gray because I much prefer the black screen panel, and I haven't decided on capacity.

I just got my Spigen iPhone 6 case, I am very happy with my decision. Though I will say I am a bit disappointed, because I also own a Nexus 5, which is actually smaller in height and nearly identical in width...yet it has a 5 inch display on it.

Unfortunately I guess Apple wants to maintain their iconic shape, but it would have been nice to get a bigger screen in the same body size...
