I had the freezing problem a few times now. Yikes! This sucks. Plus crap wifi signal and wifi dropouts. I'm getting close to exchanging it for a MacBook.

I just noticed that I can hear the spinning sound like scratch come and go

Well I have the same HD, and I don't hear a thing..

Don't worry if it dies Apple will cover you.
 
I have no issues with mine so far , initially i saw what seemed like a tiny black scratch near the palm rest but came off after a bit of cleaning.

Mine is physically sound, i just hope i don't run into problems as it is still very early days for mine.

When u pay this much i guess ppl do have the right to be nit picky....

loving OSX so far
