Has anyone ever been convicted of murder due to spreading a virus?

No, for a very very good reason.

I think this is the very first time I've heard such an assertion.

How in the world (rather Christopher Robin and Pooh’s world) can there be two Tiggr’s on this forum? With all the bouncing around, a person might get confuzzled as to which Tigrr is dare I say, real. :D

Well, duh, it's me.

'tother is an imploshter! Only one of us is handshome and deb-in-ar and bouncerrefic.

It is how I perceived The intention of your comments in post155.

“Hopefully you don't end up killing people.”

Perhaps “manslaughter“ is a better descriptor on my part. I will revise my previous question.

Has anyone ever been convicted of murder or manslaughter due to spreading a virus?

One thing I did change during shelter in place, was return to growing some of my own vegetables. Man, I forgot just how delicious home grown tomatoes can be! It's been fun sharing my excess veggies with neighbors, all pesticide free. 😊

The people across the lake from me have been growing tomatoes on their deck, and I'm thinking, since I know them, that when the tomatoes are nicely ripening (which I can see from here) that one day I'll casually go over and say "hi" and ask for a couple or three of those lovely, luscious tomatoes.....

I never accused anyone of murder though. That said, helping the spread of Covid-19 WILL result in unnecessary Deaths. You'll never know who the spreaders were, but it's a guarantee that those infected have a very real probability of being responsible for soneone elses death.

When someone knowingly violates our social contract ie: the law, does this not demonstrate an ill will towards The society They live in?

I don’t think it is much of a stretch really. A scary thought and words loosely played with in this thread. As I stated earlier, our words are important.

Yes, they have. In this case, it would be very tough to prove the source of infection much less the actual intent of the person hosting the party, or guest of the party.

Words are important yes. But in a loose informal setting such as a public internet forum one’s words can be a lot more loosely used than in a legal environment.

To wit, telling someone who’s admitting speeding on the road that “I hope you don’t end up killing someone” is an informal message inferring that the poster expresses the desire that the foolishness of the action of speeding does not directly, or indirectly, cause another persons life to be lost.

If you want to apply formal rules to an informal setting then please, be my guest.

Just know that the two are not the same.

The restaurant my girlfriend and I went to this weekend uses fresh food and it’s always delicious. The wait time was 2 hours, but it was worth it. I think the freshness of their food is a big part of why people go. Usually the wait is that 1.5 hrs maybe even less but I’m guessing more people went for the holiday weekend. I’ve never grown my own food but I know how delicious it is. Even their fish is fresh caught, and it’s simply delicious. I think if people are consulting with their healthcare provider about their personal risks then that’s a good idea, since businesses are back open now

Restaurants have been open for outdoor dining and the shopping centers within the town have made appropriate accomodations. I ate out a few meals in a row as our newish refrigerator died.

All food thrown out. Waiting for replacement parts. Went out shopping to big box stores and small appliance stores and were told the when the lockdown occurred, people went out and bought spare refrigerators and there is little inventory today. Whoda' thought? But it looks like no refrigerator until Wednesday.😭

I know people have been charged for knowingly spreading HIV in the US, I would have to do more investigation to see what they were actually convicted of.

Though I am sure some people have done that, I am going to say that when ours died the day after christmas, Lowes couldnt get me any of the ones my wife was happy with till Feb 2 (Groundhog day which is why I remember it), and Home Depot took 6 days, and thats pre-Covid buying spree. It was suggested at Lowes if I wanted one with water and ice in the door, that I buy one of the cheap 300 ones without it and use it for food until the actual one I wanted was in stock and then they could move the cheap one to the garage for beer and sodas. So buy two, and I actually thought I might have to do that, so I was getting it all figured out, when it turned out that the cheap 300 one was going to cost me $550 plus tax plus delivery fees because the 300 ones were out of stock. Hope your fridge gets delivered well in 2 days my friend, its such a mess when they die.

Just got a fridge freezer in the kitchen after 6 months of making do with just the old one in the garage. Not very convenient! Kitchen fitter went on lockdown even though the job should have been finished in February.

Well a mommy Tigger and daddy Tigger meet and fall in love, you get the idea :). I am happy to have my striped brother here, we might even burst into song later or have a Tigger-off, but I am undefeated in Tigger-offs as I pointed out on the thread about how I got this as a nickname.

Ah, but which drives a truck with the correct license plate, Tigger and co in the front, and with a Tigger hitch cover at the back?

One “benefit,” if it could be called that, of all this is the fact that my car has been getting much less use and therefore less wear-and-tear, etc. I still have just over a half a tank of gas and the last time I filled up was back in either the first or second week of March! Amazing....
This was even better combined with low prices, but they are now creeping up again :(

My sailboat flew the Tigger flag until it was killed by Hurricaine Charley, I had three tiger striped cars in a row because of my first alma mater the tornados in 2011 killed the last one, and at 47 I decided I didnt really need to get a new car painted with Tiger stripes. I have a large collection of Tigger license plates that used to live on my front bumber tag at various times, and I am head of the Tiger team here at work that goes in to help out when other projects get in trouble and the first day of the meeting we all go to the meeting wearing Tiger tails hooked through our back belt loop. Its funny, my newest member wanted to know if I gave them the Tiger tail or did they have to buy them. Neither actually I company expense it which makes it even better some how.
Talk to you later striped brother,

I used to deliver pizzas to the Round Mound of Rebound (try saying that three times fast), he also broke my nose in a pickup game, so I am not unaccustomed to bouncing.

I’ve played Pooh sticks in Ashdown Forest (the original 100 Acre Wood).

I’m also a dab hand at replacing Window regulators on Chevy trucks.

(Yup, that was my truck when I got down and dirty with a broken drivers window)

Well yesterday called the manufacturer. They extended a pro Bono service call. Today the tech showed up and as it turned out compressor died. Two hours later refrigerator was working. Thursday we have a delivery for a smaller unit going downstairs.

Its funny you mention $300 refrigerator, the exact same thing happened to us. What a pita when they go.

I've spent a lot more money on tech and orders/deliveries in the recent months

We’ve done the same in regards to delivery orders. We have Amazon boxes and online clothes orders coming to our house almost daily lol. My only investment in tech was an Amazon Fire Cube for our TV which has proved a worthwhile investment. Our next tech purchases will likely be iPhone 12’s.

Georgia becomes the 9th US state to exceed 100,000 cases, they now have had more cases then all but 20 countries, and are track to beat out Canada by this weekend. Throw in that the Mayor of the largest city Atlanta has it and the increase is surging while the governor is just worried about getting the National Guard to fight with BLM this weekend, and its only going to get worse in the Peach State in the coming weeks.
