If you have been watching HBO's Game of Thrones you would have noticed the plug for HBO Go ads. The one where they show an iPad receiving HBO streamed content.

Looks pretty cool so I thought I'd bounce over to www.hbogo.com on my iPad and check it out. To my (lack of) surprise it was a Flash only site.

Is this an example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing or is that app they show only an Android app?

I believe a subscription app up will be available soon, but I just use the xfinity app and it works fine for ondemand.

It's an app that will be available on May 2nd according to the ads.

Really?

Sometimes, just sometimes, I worry about the human race.

Simply:
HBO advertises a new app - promoting streaming on an iPad. They tell you to go to a website for more information.

You go to the website - with an iPad - since you know that the app is made for an iPad - and you can't view the information - because the site is 100% Flash.

Flash no worky on iPad.

/sarcasm

the ad also tells you in huge letters when it will be available!

i don't understand this thread...the ad says that it will be available on may 2nd. and the ipad doesn't have flash so you obviously can't check on your ipad. smh

Doesn't support Cablevision users. :(

Nor Time Warner, which is a huge population of people.

And it's the app doesn't allow TW subscribers to view the content. Whether it's a TW or HBOGo issue remains to be seen.

Don't worry, according to some they never come across any flash sites. I'm adding HBO to my failed attempt at watching southpark to my half dozen or so flash fubars I've experienced today alone.

Back on topic, has HBO finally decided to let non HBO subscribers pay for the Go service? Or is is still subscribers only.

?

Do you mean Cablevision doesn't support the app?

That's different from the app not supporting Cablevision...

I have no idea whether this is because of Cablevision or HBO.

I don't see why Cablevision would not want this, they already offer streaming of all channels to iPad in your home.

I recall when HBO Go was first mentioned over a year ago in USA Today, it mentioned Time Warner Cable as being the initial provider for the service. When I tried to access it on my computer, it would not work and I found that my LOCAL Time Warner business was not one of the participating TWC outfits.

Now with the app I see there is no Time Warner Cable listed at all. Same with the web version. That stinks to high heaven.

Looks like it's just subscribers only right now.

hint

Just a hint, there APPEARS to be no way yet to delete RECENTLY VIEWED From the short list of ADD to watchlist. This will most likely be fixed soon. :)

I'm having trouble streaming video from my iPad to my AppleTV. Audio plays fine (meaning the audio from content on HBO Go like a TV show) but no video. Has anyone else had this problem? It's an iPad 1G and AppleTV 2G with the latest firmwares on both.

By the way, "streaming" pictures from the iPad to the Apple TV works just fine.

Thanks... Josh

Awesome. Great it is universal. Now I can really use my unlimited 3G data. Plus, my friend wants me to watch The Wire.

The app probably doesn't support AirPlay yet. Considering the app description says only iOS 3.2 is required, pretty certain it doesn't. AirPlay doesn't work unless the developer has coded the app to support it.

Oops, just saw the reply above. Ok, I guess I'll just wait for the app to be updated. Thanks for the replies.
