TWC screws it's customers again

First we get screwed on ESPN for Xbox live, now we get screwed on the best movie/tv app ever.

I sent TWC a long email about it.

Tell them you want HBO GO and you want it NOW!

Awesome - But Buggy!

My goodness this app has amazing promise and awesome content but it looks to have been rushed out... It's crashed on me a couple of times and just done some weird stuff related to rotation to boot.

This is *on top* of the fact that I can't get it to use the internal speakers as previously reported.

Hopefully we'll see a quick update!

I have Directv and it's working great for me. Runs in great quality over WiFi, and even looks pretty good over a decent 3G signal on my iPhone 4. Highly recommended if you already subscribe to HBO!

Well, it seems once again that Insight Communications here in Lexington, Kentucky is behind the times. No Watch ESPN, no HBO go either. One of these days I'll get to leave this place and get a cable provider that actually tries to keep up with the times.

I've been running the app for a day now have had no problems i have verizon fios, works great.

I have had occasional crashes, occasional errors telling me I have no internet, no sound issues, and I certainly wouldn't describe the quality as great, but considering I already pay for HBO it is hard to complain when it is a free bonus. In the words of Larry David, its pretttttyyy pretttttyyy prettttyyy good

Been using HBOGO for a few days now as well and have had no problem on my iPad. Very happy camper here for iPad use.

Not to thread jack here but I do have a question maybe someone can help me with??

I have DSL speed of 1.5mbps and with this speed, I'm able to watch HBOGO on my iPad with no lags, no problems whatsoever.

If I try to watch HBOGO from my browser on my iMac, I get all sorts of lags or the movie I'm trying to watch just freezes altogether.

Is this because of my DSL speed? If so, why am I not having problems on my iPad?

Hey, I'm in Lexington KY as well! However, I think Insight is a division of a bigger company, might be Cox Communications. I'm at work with semi-locked down internet so I can't search it right now. But MacRumors.com works lol.

Done and done. So annoying.

The @TWCablehelp twitter account gets asked about it every 5 minutes or so. They defiantly see we are screaming for it. It's totally lame that we get ads for it on our TWC cable yet we cannot take advantage of it.

Parental controls on more than one device

Does anyone know if/how you can set different parental controls on different devices using the same HBO Go account? I want my iPhone settings unrestricted but my son's iPod Touch settings no higher than PG.

Do you have to set up a secondary account?

No video from my iPad or iPhone using the composite connector to my TV. I get audio fine.

Same here... F U Cablevision!

At least I guess, I can call up my mother and ask for her Dish Network ID...

Cable vision at least has the huge "stream all your cable channels" app. If you ask me, 60+ channels > just HBO. Although I 100% agree that we should have access to this app as well :(

No HBO GO for TWC customers is like Coke not selling its products in Atlanta.

FYI if anybody is still having the volume issue, I found the solution in another thread. Apparently rotation lock was messing up the volume. I went into settings and set the switch to mute, unmuted and opened the app. The volume worked. I then went back into settings and switched it back to rotation lock. The volume is now working along with my rotation lock.

I had the same problem with the ABC player and now they are both fixed. :D

probably my most used app at the moment. What makes it sweeter is Comcast has been giving me HBO free for over a year now.

We subscribe to HBO on Directv. I do have a question however before I get the app.

Does this "stream" through an internet connection, like Netflix does?

We live in the country, have broadband wireless, which works fine. But, we are limited to the amount of usage, and are unable to stream movies without a hefty surcharge per gb. I know ... it sucks ... but it is what it is!
