Ok, then you don't need to bring up Facebook when you do talk to Apple. There is NO WAY it would have happened that fast if that was the reason.

Whatever the problem is, it likely happened the day before you learned about it. (If not even longer.) So it's just a coincidence that you downloaded Facebook the hour before you learned about this mistake.

So you still need to get this mistake fixed, but I'm 100% convinced it has nothing to do with Facebook. You never get charged for an app 1 hour after you download it. It's usually a few days later.

So unless you see this e-mail within the next week, I don't think the problem is because of an app you downloaded:

I got the message from my bank " Thank you for using your XXXX bank card for 45.33 in ITUNES - USD on 27-May-2011 03:05 AM" it has been sometime now i think i should have received the e-mail from them but I have yet not. can you please tell me where and whom should i approach to get this fixed asap please or can I only contact by Bank to report this issue.

It sounds like someone used your credit card to by something on THEIR iTunes account. Not sure how much help apple can be, but would definitely cancel that card and get a new one.

Least i was expecting was a reply from them for my e-mail which i had sent them 120 hours back and followed it up after every 24 hours. I am sad at the kind of customer support Apple has :(

This has actually made my experience bad, of buying the iphone 4 :( feels so bad. Would also request if anyone could provide me any number that i can call or any other email where i can escalate this issue.

You only installed ONE app?! ONE?! But OK, maybe your not the app hoarder yet. I think your problem is the CC and not the app so your should inform your bank that the charge is not authorized by you and you want to know WHO exactly did use it. I never experienced such a problem but I would assume the CC company can trace the billing service and the IP.

But in the end you yourself are responsible for your CC information so you should disable this card to prevent bigger problems.

Below is exactly what i did -

1. Registered with Itunes store from the phone (with all my personal and credit card information)
2. Then downloaded the facebook app.
3. Got a message from Bank that 45.33 USD have been charged by Itunes.

Yes, I would get my card blocked today. Lets hope it gets figured out :(

After the wait of 120 hours instead of promised 24 hours. I get the below mentioned response. Even when my credit card information shows that I was billed for the same amount. :(

What can or should i do now :(

The story stinks of false information.

1. Facebook app for iPhone is free
2. Apple does not charge .33 for apps

You probably fell for a phishing email.

Contact your credit card company and dispute the charge.

There is no charge for the free app, thus there is no charge to dispute.

I did it from iphone and I am sure that it was no any phishing email this was my first purchase after creating an apple account. hmm not sure why the credit card statement says its ITUNES store who charged the amount.

It may just be a pending charge if you just opened up your account.

Even I was thinking about the same. however i got more worried after i received this email from ITUNES support saying there have been no charges for the purchase or creation of account.

All this talk about checking with iTunes, and an email from your bank - have you checked online banking to see if the charge actually went through? Sometimes (but not always), they may have more info than is listed.

Got this confirmed from the bank and the amount has been blocked now it was raised on my credit card on the mentioned date by ITUNES also got my credit card blocked for the same.

iTunes stuff always shows up a "APL*ITUNES" on my card, if it is anything other then that, I would say it is fraud. Either way, if that $40 amount is not on your iTunes account then it was not because of what you bought on that account. If you were on WiFi when you signed up, somebody could have grabbed some packets with your CC info.

Dispute the charge and get a new card number, move on with your life. Credit Card issues happen all the time, if something is on your card you didn't put on there, dispute it as quickly as possible, never try to go through WHO made the charge first, just call the Credit Card company, ALWAYS.

it says that I have purchased Facebook app Price Free. Also i did not recieve any email invoice for this amount even that sounds strage. i think i read somewhere that Apple does send an invoice for all the purchases even free purchases

I don't think Apple send invoice for free downloads anymore. Any ways, I haven't received any in a while and I "bough" a lot of free stuff. I sure do receive an invoice for every (non-free) purchase 'tho.

My bet is on a CC fraud. Did you really download Facebook app at 03:05 AM?

I think you are right, I got it blocked anyhow. Will apply for a new card soon.

Guys I am yet to recieve any information from Apple with regards to the money and reasons as to why they charged it. However I did get my card and amount blocked from my bank they were swift at it.

Also would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped and took time to read my issue and respond back. I cant express as to how much I do appreciate that. Thanks a lot again ! Thanks everyone !

I think this is the actual apple support :) and this is one of the reason why everyone keeps saying Apple has a wonderful community and support :)

1. Where can i buy the apple itunes card can you please provide me the link.
2. I sure hoped so everyone i know had a good experience with Apple. Lets hope they resolve my issue as well.

Almost everywhere here in Toronto. Supermarkets, 7-11, music stores... They're often with all the other gift cards.
