I HUNGER
I'll explain the situation...
1. I buy an new ipad Pro in Japan
2. I take it to Australia and give it to a friend
3. Friend wants to buy Applecare in Australia to cover it.

Is this possible?

I've checked Apple's site regarding warranty, but it's quite vague. On the one hand it states they may restrict warranty to the place of purchase, yet in another place it says Applecare is worldwide.

Anybody done this previously? If it were me, I'd just get the Applecare here and I'm sure it would be fine overseas, but I can't buy his Applecare for him here... I think???

Thanks.

They can twist the entire thing as:
Applecare can be purchased anywhere around the world, but you need to buy Applecare at the country you buy the product.
Therefore “global Applecare”.
But in AU, I cannot buy Applecare for products bought from another country. Reason unclear but I can’t.

One thing, you need a charger adapted to Australian power network.
Thanks. But that's all fine. My mate already has the Aussie plug that slots onto the power brick.

It's really just the deal with Applecare. I guess I'm going to have to call Apple here and see what they say.
