I think SS with Sport Band is a good starting point... Thats what I'm doing

I know, the more I think about it the more this is more feasible. I don't mind the space gray but I think I'll be jealous if I see someone with ss. Lol

Those are character marks. No big deal, just wear your watches.

I never buy a watch to keep them in my safe and only wear them a few times out of the year.

I like to enjoy them daily, so I wear my Rolex's all the time. I got a little ding in one banging against a jail door. Now if anyone asks, I have a store behind it.

I will only get the watches polished right before I pass my watches down to my kids. Until then, I don't mind any little scratch or mark.

Drive it like you stole it!!!

I do wear it. I just got aggravated that I scratched it so fast. LOL.

Seriously, though. I banged it against a wall and the bezel is smooth and round so it's a really clear scratch. I'll probably get it buffed out. The watch has other little signs of wear on it, but this particular scratch is VERY pronounced. Bleh.

I'm not much of a watch person anymore, because all they do is sit there and tell the time.

This is why I'm interested in the Apple Watch. If it can do more, I'll probably feel like it's more useful. I like jewelry, but I've never been into watches enough to wear one steadily without dropping it after awhile. Not since I started carrying a cell phone regularly.

----------

Actually I think it's this one. I paid a lot more than that for it. *sigh*

You are right. It's only a watch, and if I didn't want to get it scratched, and be disappointed, I could have gotten a Timex.

It is am amazing looking watch, even with the scratches.

Mine is this one, minus the roman numerals on the bezel. Just picture it totally smooth and that's basically the model I have (they discontinued it, probably because people got scratches on that wide, smooth bezel... LOL).

and I definitely paid more than they're asking for that one. ;)

I understand. I do like my things looking good for as long as possible.

To tell you the truth, I am in the habit of pulling out my phone to check the time, even with a watch on my wrist?.? I then look at my watch just because I love the beauty of the watch and the inner workings. I also love listening to the "heartbeat" too. Yes, I am a goofball WIS. I am also mandated to wear a watch at work, good thing I like them.

I think I do pull out my watch not only to check the time, but also what ever notifications I might have.

Only time will tell if the AW will break that habit.

NOPE.. it's basically a 3 way tie between the top 3 options.

What were your number 1 and 2 choices of AW when you saw the first keynote?

1. 42 rose gold with link
2. 42 stainless steel/space black with link

I see why you are looking for other options.

For me, even if I could afford a RG AW, I'd prefer to spend that cash on a fine Swiss mechanical jeweled timepiece.

I still would love to see it in person though.

I'm sure with all your research and forum posts, you are not anywhere near making a decision. I think we are all in the same boat! Most of us has never seen or felt one in person. We watch videos and look at pictures hoping that we made the right decision. (Those of us who will preorder anyways)

The 24th is so far away!

i can afford a rose gold version too if i really wanted, but the thing is, should i? the answer is no. i'd rather invest 15k. thank u. LULZ

If you need us to tell you what to buy and you are actually going to listen to us then you definitely need the Edition with Gold Band. :D

I'm ready... Haha

im not buying the edition... like I said, I got better plans than spend 10k on a watch with no return..

Good choice. I'm sure Apple will be coming out with other great bands and also quality 3rd party companies.

thanks bruh.. I know I'm hoping they release different color buckles.

This is the only thing holding me back to being sold on ss. The fact is there will be a v2 and I'm sure I would want that too haha

this is why i'm buying a sport. In a year or 2 apple will release ver 2 and it will hopefully have better battery life and more of a water proof/resistance.

which BTW, i bought a pair of new headphones. (jaybird bluebird x's) inside was a coupon code for 20% off liquipel. Supposedly it will repel water/sweat I wonder if this can be applied to the apple watch.

Well, personally, I was really torn between the classic buckle and the milanese loop (especially since they cost the same).
I'll probably buy both bands eventually, but I decided to get the Milanese first because the steel mesh seems like it will be much easier to clean (eventually I might spring for a sport band, but classic buckle comes first because fashion is important to me). And I might wear it in the shower once and a while, haven't decided yet. I'll let someone brave try it first lol.
But yeah, leather seems like it would be harder to take care of so I figure I'll get that one to wear on special occasions.

For me, it's going to come down to the feel on 4/10. By the time you get a silver sport with a black band, you're in it for $450. The SS with black band is only $150 more.

Is the sapphire and ceramic worth $150? I guess I'll have to see for myself.

I've been debating for the longest...

I didn't realize the SS with classic buckle was $699. Geez Apple, why!?!? I'm getting the lower end. Why? Because technology gets obsolete. Next year, this watch will do something that it can't do this year such as beam you up to Mars (figure of speech, but you get my point). Don't spend too much on this.

That's the one I want - $150.00. Basically the watch itself is all the same except for the cost of the band and whether you want bling.

EDIT: Which model costs $150. I don't see it. This is the one I want in 42MM:

He's talking about the cost of buying a plain aluminum (not space gray) sport plus an extra band (to get the black band) being 450 for the 42mm. For 150 more, he can get the SS with a sport band.

Well, I really like the Space Black SS Bracelet 42MM for $1099. I'm not sure if I like the SS with sport band ($599). I had a Citizens Divers watch which the rubber strap was affixed to the case, and on two occasions, the rubber strap cracked and I had to send the entire watch in for service.

Since then, I've never purchased a watch with a strap thet I can't replace myself. I question the durability of it. Now, take a look at the SS with Black Modern Buckle, it has a loop on both top and bottom of the dial. I wonder if this loop can be unscrewed to replace the strap. The downside, it's offer only in 38MM ($749) not 42MM.
