I activated my iphone 4s with the verizon network at a local starbucks around my apple store. Then as i was walking out some dude ran past and snatched my iphone. What can i do now? Is there a way i can track it right away?

Only if you had already activated the "Find my iPhone" from iCloud. :(

Regardless... call the police and file a report.

Common sense? File a police report immediately, maybe they can check for any surveillance cameras.

No, the only way to track it is with FindMyiPhone.

A very large meteorite just landed on my head making me drop my brand new iPhone 4s. Do you think that's covered by Applecare +? If so do you think I can have my buddy run into the apple store and buy it for me (I didn't do it when I got the phone)? I'd do it myself, but my head is crushed under that large meteorite and it's too heavy to pick up.

    black list the esn.

This reminds me to put ATT insurance right now, they cover theft or loss.

Hope you used an American Express card. If you did, they will give you back full price. All they need is a police report number.

Actually, since it's activated, just call the police. They'll contact your carrier, get the phone ID and track down the thief.

You got a passcode on it?

If it's on, your iPhone can be tracked via Cellular or WIFI triangulation.

That's how the police tracked down the person who "found" the iPhone prototype that was left in the bar a couple months ago.

That's why I always pay for everything with my Amex, it's a nice 90day security policy and they'll double the warrenty (I'm getting Apple Care + tho)

    This is suitable

Contact the police, the longer you sit here expecting a forum to deal a miracle the longer they have your iPhone ;)

Really? Day one? Sorry for your loss. Where do live?

Yet another reason I'm glad my 'pre-order' didn't arrive yet.

If you didn't buy the insurance, you're pretty much out of luck. Sorry.

You should have gave chase. That way when he's beating your ass others will call the cops, perp gets arrested, you get to post on MR from the hospital with your new 4s. Win.
