Q. Am I obligated to return or pay for merchandise I never ordered?
A. No. If you receive merchandise that you didn’t order, you have a legal right to keep it as a free gift.
Q. Must I notify the seller if I keep unordered merchandise without paying for it?
A. You have no legal obligation to notify the seller. However, it is a good idea to write a letter to the company stating that you didn’t order the item and, therefore, you have a legal right to keep it for free. This may discourage the seller from sending you bills or dunning notices, or it may help clear up an honest error. Send your letter by certified mail. Keep the return receipt and a copy of the letter for your records. You may need it later.
DONT CALL.!!! They screwed up. Watch you card and see if it gets charged. If so, call and send it back. If not...KEEP it...PROFIT!!!
Ur a thief, and you make the products I buy more expensive.

and you're just a hater because you're sexually repressed.
don't be a hater because you're sexually repressed.
Uh? That's not even funny. Here is the thing, Apple would likely notice this at some point. They would then wonder why a $700 item is missing from their inventory, track it back to the people who packaged the orders, and one of those people might need to foot the bill themselves, or face other sanctions at work because of it. Quit thinking about yourself and realize this could actually impact others as well.
something that small.. they write it off and never look back... why dedicate 1 person to tracking down why inventory is off by 1. not to mention its probably off by more than 1 anyway because no inventory is ever perfect.
they plan for losses with any release... it happens. if an entire pallet went missing then it would raise flags... but even then they would probably take it as a loss rather than the public humiliation of 'miss placing' and entire pallet.

How convinent you skipped over the actual one that applies here:
Q. What should I do if the unordered merchandise I received was the result of an honest shipping error?
A. Write the seller and offer to return the merchandise, provided the seller pays for postage and handling. Give the seller a specific and reasonable amount of time (say 30 days) to pick up the merchandise or arrange to have it returned at no expense to you. Tell the seller that you reserve the right to keep the merchandise or dispose of it after the specified time has passed.
Not to mention this is a different situation. He ordered the item and they sent two, thats a big difference than getting bogus CD's in the mail. If Dell accidentally drops off a XPS gaming rig at my house I guarantee they will do anything to get it back. At work, Dell once accidentally sent us a huge plasma display, but we had to return it because we got a bill in the mail. You cannot keep stuff like that. Its morally wrong and illegal.

I hope I don't lose my wallet and have one of you guys (most of you) find it. I know you'd just take the cash and never try to return it.
They would probably charge on the credit card too and claim ignorance. "Wait, I couldn't charge on it! I didn't know!"
