take some Robintussin, eat some hot chicken noodle soup(or any hot soup) and maybe some hot tea with honey.... also some Ricola cough suppressents during the day-- natural herb cough drops and the honey ones as the cough gets better (stay away from Halls) .... if it doesn't clear up in a week or so (or gets worse ... the green or not clear phlegm is a good indicator), go see a doctor. Also if you have a fever, you may want to consider a visit to a doctor....

Well I went to the doctors and it seems like a chest infection so I have some antibiotics to take for it. Hopefully it'll clear up soon enough. It's been the worst. Medical advice sought after and I'm not dying after all.

Thanks guys :)

And that is why you call a doctor instead of asking online or even looking on WebMD. ;) Having just gotten over a chest infection, I can tell you that letting it go untreated is a bad idea.

I see nothing wrong with asking for advice before seeing the doctor. You can do both. It's not an either/or proposition. :)

Sure, I suppose. Asking in lieu of, which is what he was originally saying he was doing (he didn't want to see the doctor), is something I can't ever get on board with. I'm different, I suppose.

Several forum members, including myself advised him to see the Dr if it persisted. For someone hesitant to see the Dr, his seeking of advice could have made the difference! :)

Well it wasn't that I didn't want to go, it's just the waiting I don't like, which is surprising for an Englishman. Especially with are 'thing' about queues ;)

Seeking advice which is only what it was here first I think is a good way to go before you ask a doctor. I'm not saying instead of, just beforehand.

Anyway the pain is much more under control now considering the thing that feels like it's killing me is only a chest infection. It's hard to breathe but I'm getting there though. :p
