With FotMob, I can get the Live Activity to show on the lock screen, but the scores won't update unless I open the app. Does anyone else find this?

Exactly. And what sports app is that? Is it ESPN? Who knows. Only been shown a zillion times yet I haven't seen a sports app supported yet

That's when you follow a game in Apple's TV app. It was enabled in earlier betas and looked that way, worked well too. Not sure why they haven't re-enabled it yet.

While some companies abuse it, subscriptions get you regular updates and new features. Single inexpensive purchases wont to the same degree because developers have to be paid.

Again I think this is fair too. But I’m willing to pay a decent amount for a useful app if it’s one time. Like the combination of monthly / yearly / lifetime in the subscription menu.
 
Am I correct that the master kill switch for this is Settings >> Face ID & Passcode >> Allow Access When Locked and turn off Live Activities? I use at least one of the apps on the list that claims to claims to have implemented support for this and I am *not* interested.

Yes, I found this last night. I tried it for the West Ham game and the only way the island/lockscreen would update was if I went into the app first. Kind of defeats the purpose of it?

Last time, during half time it freezed. I thought “it’s taking so long this half time” then I clicked on live activity banner, app opened and banner refreshed
