Old product!? Still less than a year old for the original colours and these have interesting new details such as the colour matched cord and bolder volume controls.

Not that others don't enjoy a pop of colour, but I'm guessing Apple sent this purposely to that female Youtuber, because that's a segment they hope to capture. Younger audience who's primary interest is looks rather than sound/tech/features. At $99, I imagine many of these will be under the Christmas tree this season.

I am still waiting for improved Home Pod OS. I returned mine:
It would not stay with the Apple TV I paired it with (would randomly play content from other sources).
I removed iTune from one source but it made no difference, it would not default to the Apple TV.
Additionally, the sound was not as good as a decent (less than $150) sound bar.
So will be waiting after returning one for the next generation.

I don’t know why but I was fully expecting the top of the HomePod mini to be somewhat color matching, not straight up white. Am I the only one?

EDIT: Apparently they are slightly matching the color of the HomePod

I just realised the same thing. If you go on Apple's website they slightly colourmatch it with a tinted siri animation depending on the model. But there is no photo of the new ones in "idle mode". Everything is colour matched except that surface area.

Cool colors, but it just came to my mind how conservative I am (not talking about politics).
I bought a gray M1 iMac, always had a black iPhone, and if I had to buy a HomePod Mini, it would be white.
