Do you run out of battery each day?
Yes, I do. Maybe something is wrong with my 16 PM, but I doubt it because it happened with my 13 PM on iOS 17 and after ios 18 upgrade. The iOS is buggy and kills the battery life.

Apple is boasting about different iOS features, but the support document recommends turning everything off to preserve the battery life. But even if I do that, it isn't a real solution because the bugs are the issue and not necessarily some power-hungry iOS features.

The bottom line is that the overall experience is poor.

I would want a phone that thin and narrow but with no camera bump and no AI features.
Turning off Apple Intelligence is super easy. Can’t help you with the camera bump though.

Something is wrong with your PM. I can get a day and a half in mine running iOS 18 even using Apple Intelligence.

My wife had a similar issue with her 16 Pro, wiping it and setting it up as new fixed it for her. I know that’s really annoying, but maybe worth a try.

So much bellyaching. You’d think Apple was discontinuing every other iPhone and making this their sole model. You’ll still have your massive bricks to choose from, so what’s the problem with offering something thinner as an OPTION? Jesus.

I for one am grateful that Apple is finally making thin and light phones again and can’t wait to purchase an iPhone Air. I’ve been begging them to do something like this.
Where's the iPhone mini? Oh right, discontinued.

To me thin does not matter, it’s a battery. Give me a better battery and a thicker phone and I will be happy.

You got a fat camera hump there. It's like measuring how skinny a fat woman is. Just put a tape measure around her ankles instead of her stomach.
Do you typically hold the phone with your hand wrapped around the camera bump? While I wish camera bumps werent needed I will say that the thinness doesnt have a large chunk of its advantages negated by the bump. It’s still gonna be lighter and easier to hold. Now if only they’d make it in a mini form factor.

I’ve found that my 16 pro lasts about a day and half with normal usage on battery, the PM has an even bigger battery, I’m legit surprised you cant make it a day on it

I know I’m wasting my breath, but I do wish they’d offer just one phone without a camera bump. This one would seem ideal. Really lean in to the thinness.

What I find kind of amusing about the "camera bump" is so far I've yet to see anyone explain how the bump adversely affects their ability to use the phone or to make photographs.

I've yet to come across any situation where it does. I guess I could complain about it in order to somehow feel good slagging Apple. But that's not me.

I'd much rather have a bump with a better camera rather than a bumpless phone with an inferior camera. Perhaps that's because I'm a photographer (with a lot of photos on this forum).

While we are at it, how about make em as thick as original iPod with a 7 day battery life???? Still fits in the pocket after all

YES!!!

Oh, wait, you're being sarcastic ....

Never-mind....

Apple please stop making your phones bigger. Yes this is thinner but I still can’t use it with one hand.

At what point are they going to draw the line? Or maybe they won’t and we’ll just end up with 2ft phones in 10 years 🤣

I thought Apple was over choosing form over function. They should focus on adding more battery life, or getting rid of the notch rather than making it thinner which ads very little additional value.

these parlor tricks were neat 15 years ago. Thinner is just another Bendgate. We need thinner in width not depth

Watch them come up with some anti-bending contraption. Maybe a carbon fiber popsicle stick inside the case.
Based on the previous bendgate problem, I’m confident Apple isn’t going to repeat that particular problem-specifically having the phone bend and then staying bent.

There’s two ways that I can see this going. Either making the phone more elastic so when it bends or flexes [slightly], it will basically bounce or bend back. Or by making it much more rigid, so instead of bending, it will just break.

But the optimum solution, is for people stop acting stupid. Don’t carry your phone in your real pocket. Perhaps have the phone scream 😱 if it’s subjected to uneven bending pressure.

How about an iPhone with replaceable battery and upgradable camera??
Modularity is a trade off that may or may not make sense depending on the product. While it can benefit us consumers in terms of upgrade cost and customizability, it adds complication for a company to have to support different combinations of components, which also has the side effect of adding confusion for consumers, in this case confusion as to which camera software features their phone supports (x feature requires y camera + z processor). Modularity also limits a company’s ability to redesign the layout of components in future iterations of the product to make it as compact and efficient as possible, which for a mobile phone is of utmost importance. Seeing as there aren’t any popular modular phones in the market, it seems this is a product where the advantages of modularity don’t outweigh the disadvantages enough to be viable.
