"apparently" There you go again.
That particular word is defined as "How to lie with statistics"
FWIW the same reference that Antifa posited gives the carbon cost of producing fabric as HIGHER that that of producing leather.
Apparently, meaning that it’s claimed by Apple that 68% recycled materials is used but no one has dug into what that entails or recycled from where.

The point I’m making is that even in the scenario where the band’s recycled materials still produces some emissions it would still be less emissions than tanning leather. Even if the recycled portion saves on, say only 30% of emissions from using recycled materials, it would still be less.

But, you have no idea how Carbon Dioxide is measured. They fill FLASKS with air at a location and measure the Carbon Dioxide with a spectrometer that has an error of +/- 3%. Then the AVERGE the results and ESTIMATE the amount of Carbon Dioxide. The difference between 15.8 and 16 is within the margin error.
The difference between 15.8 and 16 could be margin of error, but the source says 15.8 and 17 if you read carefully, which translates to a 7% difference. That’s considered statistically significant.

It is neurons that are the “feeling” part of matter.

I am a neuroscientist and frankly I am no longer sure your statement is true of all living organisms, and even of animals (glial cells appear to augment the processing of information of neurons). And I think sharing is the essence of conscious feeling, at least for emotions. Emotions are not needed to do cognitive tasks, but they are needed to trigger body reactions (e.g., smiling, laughter, crying, clinching a fist, etc.) that others can interpret to infer internal states. Who knows? Maybe the same thing holds for trees and other plants that appear to communicate via their roots.

Anyway, eating plants is not without its ethical costs to plants; to the environment in general (diversion of water sources; destruction of the soil biosystem; poisoning of the environment by pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and rodenticides), and to the animals displaced or killed to grow crops.
