I get the points you guys are trying to make, but how do you know that the same people that hated the design ended up liking it later. The people that posted the comments on hating the 4, might not be the same people liking the design after the release.

Plus, it is all subjective.
I personally think that the 4s was the most beautiful and unique designed phone.

I remember the day the iPhone 6 was announced, I couldn't wait to check out the design. I didn't get a chance to look it up until late in the day, and I remember thinking that the iPhone 6 was an Android phone. I had to double check that I was looking at the right phone, but sadly, I was looking at the iPhone 6.

It did not have the uniqueness that other iPhones had.

My point is that it is all subjective, because there are people that think the iPhone 6, 6s, and 6ss are the best design of any of the iPhones.

True true. I guess I just base it on how many people are buying the phones. I have an inclination that a lot of people who diss the design when it leaks end up buying it anyway because of the features, hype and Apple's marketing/ads.

But of course there are people who buy it and still don't like the design or people who don't like the design and just don't buy it.

Nice pick up. Yes the comments make fun reading. I personally loved iPhone 4 from day 1, but lots of distaste for it in the forum. I wonder what can explain this, distaste for something new and fres, troll commenters, or something else.

I think it is the "wrong on the internet" motivation. Folks often like to chime in on comments when they see something wrong. See my comment above for a perfect example. So the negative comments often are for more represented in comment threads than they are in real life. This really applies in many areas. The "silent majority" is generally just happily enough moving through their day.

Hope this isn't the chosen prototype for the new 5.8" -- no dual lens. I'd really like that on my next phone but in a smaller form factor than the current plus.

Apple should announce a brand new phone before there is potential of a leak. Announce now and release 3-6 months later.
Nope, that's not good strategy. By the time the phone is out, the buzz would've died down and people might have bought other phones.

Just look at Sony, that's what they did, announcing 3-6 months before the phone is actually for sale.

You apparently never heard of what happened with ATI when they leaked something about a video card in (IIRC) the G4 Cube like an HOUR before Jobs was going to introduce same...

They were taken off the "supplier list" for YEARS after that.

That would work back then, but Apple ships waaay too many units now that they need every piece of hardware they can get.

I read previous posts, but no, the qr codes and barcodes do not state "you wish".
I scanned many times and it does state "YOU WISH!!!". There are other posts from different people after my post, confirming the same.

QR code is very clear and easy to scan, however the bar code gives no results because some of the lines are obscured due to bad contrast.

Scan for yourself.

However, Apple MUST be very careful about the type of case used to hide new iPhone prototypes. They got burned hard when the protective case used to hide the iPhone 4 prototype ended up not revealing the problem with the iPhone 4's antenna system.

All that effort to blur out ID numbers while leaving the associated bar codes to the numbers untouched.

Very cool insight. If I ever see someone carrying a phone in a huge case with yellow tape wrapped around it I'm going to introduce myself.

lol...

the most important thing every one wants as a prototype, and the only protection is this rubber case type, and masking tape that u can "later" say your are going after..

Well, its too late if they have it.
