I'm pretty sure Apple said the dock was only for the iPad months ago. In the keynote they said something like it was coming to the iPad in the fall, so the iPhone shouldnt have it

I

i think you maybe apologizing ahead of time for Apple. The design is flawed both aesthetically and in useability. There should be little to nothing to learn. Deep gestures and hidden tricks are flawed from the outset. iOS 11 is so clumsy.
[doublepost=1504130303][/doublepost]This has COMPAQ written all over it. Unresolved design. Esoteric and spammy design.
Unimpressed, and not upgrading.

The S8 and new Note designs are incredible. They've really come a long way to meet and possibly surpass Apple on device design. There's no cut out notches on the new Note, also there is no protruding camera. It's just so much better than Apple at the moment. It astonishes me how in denial about these facts some can be here.

LOL the bold large font is hilarious. This guy is definitely upgrading.

im afraid for Apple here. Removing the home button is asking for trouble. Just watch. Most users aren't what you think they are.

Wow; that is precisely the reason why Apple is slow to take up technology quickly bs the competitors - and NO its. It simply about delivering the best experience. Proof: first without DVD, first with 802.11b/g/n natively in computers.

Approachable, yes, but all along Jobs wanted to design a phone that was just a screen with no buttons. The main reason for a physical button was in case a reset was needed. I am hesitant to judge before we have even seen it, although I do wonder how you get to control center if swiping up will be to get to home.

As technology becomes more ubiquitous to all generations, I think tech companies will have more leeway with these shortcuts.

The main reason for he home button is because USA dolts where finding t too hard for complex mobile operating systems in S60/Windows Mobile. Think of the home as the call and end call buttons in a phone.

I'm not a huge fan of the visible notch. And I'm not quite getting what the actual gesture is for returning to the home screen. Sliding up from the bottom? Isn't that what's used for the control center?

The Problem is...most people don't care about the features you just stated.

The OP compared Essential phone notch to the iPhone 8.

I was merely saying the two can't be compared because Essential phone is just a regular camera.

I think the Essential phone has a great design. Or I'm just really nostalgic for those flat edges, could be that too lol
