I was so disappointed to learn that my new iPad Pro doesn't have NFC. So if I enable security key, how do I authenticate on my iPad? I need to buy another Yubikey?

Hey Apple, how about moving notifications to the correct, center placement on the Lock Screen again you stupid stupid humans.

While you’re at it, remove notifications from going to the hidden ‘old’ submenu.

2 things you incredibly stupid humans:

1. People want to see their notifications front-and-center, since you know……. THEIR only purpose is to DRAW ATTENTION

2. People want to see their notifications 100% of the time, always….. since you know… THEIR only purpose is to DRAW ATTENTION and tell a human that something important is waiting for them.

Apple designers need fired in droves.

Look at the new dictation. It literally places a microphone icon directly overtop of the voice-to-text input so that you, as the human talking to your phone, cannot look at the text to see if it was all correctly dictated. You honestly don’t want to know how many people I’d fire at Apple for just making unbelievably stupid decisions.

I should be running all iOS design because the simple truth is that it would be far better than it is.

I had major issues with intermittent sound issues when playing music on my Sonos systems with 16.2.

First tests with 16.3 look promising in that regard.

They will certainly release their own security keys. It's called Apple Airtag+ (includes world's strongest security encryption key + Apple's renowned Advanced Security Ultra Max 512-bits security)

Price $159 each, 4-pack with $10 discount.

One of the best perks of being a Cloudflare customer, they gave out promo codes for customers for 10.00 Yubikeys off the regular 45/55 dollars USD. Now my whole family will each be able to take advantage of this for 80 bucks which would have set me back quite a chunk of change if I paid regular price lol.

16.1.2 is still running fine. Not updating until they remedy the HK bugs. The stories sound so bad I'm about to put my eufy cameras back up outside.

Seems like there's not much to offer. Extremely minor but it's better than nothing. I'll take it as long as stability and performance have been improved.

About the recent bug attached... yeah... What to do? 😣
I didn’t laughed at you or your post, I was only laughing at how iOS 16 still impresses with all the bugs😁
I have been experiencing many and similar bugs on iOS 16.

I really hope that Apple do a iOS 12 (I think it was 12?) and skip iOS 17 and concentrate to clean and optimize iOS 16 instead this year.

Does it fix the confusing mess iOS is becoming?

Why do we still have the old widgets left from the first Home Screen?

Why can’t we configure the confusing categories in the app drawer? Why does that drawer even exist?

Why can you have apps in the drawer but not on a homescreen? The question “I have an app but can’t find it anymore” didn’t exist before.

Who designed the Home and Health apps and why haven’t they been shot yet?

Why do Focus modes need so much configuration? While still not fixing the issue of not wanting to be disturbed but not missing that important call or message. Focus modes should have been AI driven.

Which brings me to: why is Siri becoming dumber with each year? It’s like even Apple gave up and just gave us Shortcuts instead. Let the users figure it out.

Run far away from the Yubikey 5ci. I've now had six of them break. Some were replacements from Yubico.

Mine have broken from just normal day-to-day use on my desk, not even on a keychain.

And although it might seem like a good idea to have both lightning and USB-C in a single key, the 5ci doesnt balance well on a keychain or lanyard.
This will be good though for certain environments/offices. Guess it’s not so great in mobile usage. And might a new”crime” emerge in the police states—“ deliberate crushing of security key by foot}?

“hidden ‘old’ submenu”??? Hot digity!where is that?

They’re talking about having to swipe up on Lock Screen to bring up “Notification Center” or previously viewed notifications.
Well I had NEVER spent any energy at all trying to dig up old notifications even though it might have been useful - your post inspired me to do a search for how and try it - thanks - culled them

Legit wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t know since most iOS users don’t know. It’s really bad when you design a feature for one of the top 2 most important things a smartphone does (notifications), and you have well over half of your users (hundreds of millions), not know where they are.

Swiping up from the lower-portion of the Lock Screen is the dumbest thing Apple has done in their history and that’s saying a lot.
