Does it fix the confusing mess iOS is becoming?

Why do we still have the old widgets left from the first Home Screen?

Why can’t we configure the confusing categories in the app drawer? Why does that drawer even exist?

Why can you have apps in the drawer but not on a homescreen? The question “I have an app but can’t find it anymore” didn’t exist before.

Who designed the Home and Health apps and why haven’t they been shot yet?

Why do Focus modes need so much configuration? While still not fixing the issue of not wanting to be disturbed but not missing that important call or message. Focus modes should have been AI driven.

Which brings me to: why is Siri becoming dumber with each year? It’s like even Apple gave up and just gave us Shortcuts instead. Let the users figure it out. be lucky if it fixes what’s 16.2 broke.
I’ll feel lucky if 16.3 fixes what 16.2 broke.

1. People want to see their notifications front-and-center, since you know……. THEIR only purpose is to DRAW ATTENTION

2. People want to see their notifications 100% of the time, always….. since you know… THEIR only purpose is to DRAW ATTENTION and tell a human that something important is waiting for them.

Well, speak for yourself.

I disagree with both of these.

There are a lot of different opinions in the world…

16.1.2 is still running fine. Not updating until they remedy the HK bugs. The stories sound so bad I'm about to put my eufy cameras back up outside.

You can update your devices to 16.2 without introducing the HomeKit bugs.

The HomeKit issues are with the HomeKit architecture upgrade, which has been pulled and is no longer available - but was never a required thing anyway. 16.2 was required to initiate it, but you didn’t have to.

There are right opinions (mine concerning that), and wrong opinions (yours).

Some people have the opinion there should be no notifications at all, ever. See. Everyone has opinions. Some people think races other than their own are worse than theirs. See. Wrong opinions.

Enjoy.

It would be better if in notifications that pop up, a small “+/“ was included, something like that.

I have notification-heavy apps, especially my cameras set up at work and home but I have them set to no banners w/ sound as they interrupt my flow of phone use and 80% of the time, nothing bad is happening. Same for my emails, banking, shopping, finance and streaming apps. 80% of that is filler as well.

Apple has actually done a great job imo with notification customization. I have some set to sound only, Lock Screen only, banner only, etc. I’ve used summary before so when I wake up, I have a prioritization list. I do NOT need to see ALL my notis ALL the time. I’d literally be checking my phone every five seconds.

I’m not having any problems with this 14PM from a work standpoint. My concern is STILL the FPS and network stability issue. These companies including Apple have WAY too much money to not be talking to each other about how to stabilize performance. They both need each other to “survive”. I swear my 13PM on iOS 15.7 was STILL the “most stable” iPhone I’ve had in a while and even that had problems.

Please tell me I didn’t just read the innate, low hanging fruit, straw man of a social concept of “racism” being brought into a discussion about apple notifications.

I guess you have no problem with how the materials in the iPhone aren’t fair trade. You’re better off arguing why you only get one cord with your iPhone and how soon there will be zero ports and zero buttons on the phone in 977 years. You’re going to have to have a chip implanted in your brain stem to operate your phone by mind in iOS Y3K.2

Your entire comment is pure nonsense hahaha.

But that’s not surprising given the fact that in your last comment you suggested Apple was doing the right thing with notifications. LOL.

Apple knows absolutely nothing as evidenced by iOS 16 notifications. I’m embarrassed for humanity that we have people that stupid designing software for hundreds of millions of others. So sad

3 points:

1. You buy their products.

2. Lets see the phone you’ve invented that’s used globally.

3. Refer to point 1.

Hmm. Appears we may be feeding a troll.

But my basic stance is - if I pay for my phone, my opinion on how to use it is the right one. If you pay for my phone then you can have an opinion on how I use it.

The best thing for any manufacturer is to allow configurable options - within a framework or guardrails to maintain security, reliability, or performance (don’t let users shoot themselves in the foot).

But really - a lot of vitriol here against people who want to use their phones slightly different. What a weird thing to be pushy about.

I would like you and everyone else to just enjoy your expensive phone how you want to enjoy your expensive phone…. It’s your phone.

By buying hardware you're buying into how the manufacture wants you to use it surely ? Its not like Apple or anyone hide how their hardware works.....But as a point yeah I agree some leeway is good although YMMV may vary on the wideness of that "leeway"

And we signed a bunch of paragraphs stating how we are basically allowed access to their property/product as is with any product. I might have my gripes and personal preferences but if I’m not happy overall, I’m just going to switch manufacturer. Plenty of other phone providers out there with plenty of other features to suit almost anyone. Some people just complain to be heard.

Thank you for the heads up. I had missed that. I might hold off in the hope that 16.3 addresses some of the other bugs being noticed, but good to know HK won't be touched.

Hey Apple, how about moving notifications to the correct, center placement on the Lock Screen again you stupid stupid humans.

While you’re at it, remove notifications from going to the hidden ‘old’ submenu.

2 things you incredibly stupid humans:

1. People want to see their notifications front-and-center, since you know……. THEIR only purpose is to DRAW ATTENTION

2. People want to see their notifications 100% of the time, always….. since you know… THEIR only purpose is to DRAW ATTENTION and tell a human that something important is waiting for them.

Apple designers need fired in droves.

Look at the new dictation. It literally places a microphone icon directly overtop of the voice-to-text input so that you, as the human talking to your phone, cannot look at the text to see if it was all correctly dictated. You honestly don’t want to know how many people I’d fire at Apple for just making unbelievably stupid decisions.

I should be running all iOS design because the simple truth is that it would be far better than it is.
I think you may be right about the design changes, but a dev. team doesnt need a pompous a**. Maybe thats where the recruitment falters?

Yeah I think you’re right, they do need *******s like Steve Jobs and Phil Schiller.

That actually might be one of the reasons Apple is going downhill. Most of the asses are gone.
