I wish my continent (Europe) was getting Apple AI.
NOBODY gets Apple AI today!
US in 8.1, UK in 8.2 (UK is English same as US so easier)

Apple said Apple Intelligence will gain support for additional languages — such as Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish — next year.

So this implies that Apple is working with EU for Apple AI to be ready for next year - stop whining about things based on rumours.

People who rely on their iPhone should wait at least until 18.3. History proves that we will have something like a stable with the .3 releases.

For macOS, summer 2025 is a good time to upgrade.

I've been using iOS18 beta for almost a month now and loving it. My favorite new feature is the "Send Later" option in messages. I also love the home screen tile placement option.

What's your new favorite feature?
Also curious

I’ve been using the 18.1 beta on an iPhone 15 Pro Max. My favorite feature are the Apple Intelligence writing tools. Of course, 18.0 will not have Apple Intelligence, so I will remain with the 18.1 beta until it releases.

I'd like to thank all the guinea pigs ahead of time for rushing out to install this as soon as it drops. It saves Apple a ton of time and money in properly testing the release.

It's that time of year again. Apple is about to release iOS 18, which promises to bring a range of new features and improvements to iPhones worldwide. It's Apple's biggest software update of the year, and the company is expected to release it sometime today – Monday, September 16.

Be Prepared to Wait

When iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 become available as an over-the-air update, make sure your device is fully charged before you start the process over Wi-Fi, as it may take some time to complete. To check that the update is available, go to Settings ➝ General ➝ Software Update, and wait a moment for your device to contact Apple's servers. If you're in no rush, you can wait for iOS 18 to be delivered to your iPhone when you next plug it into your computer.
On that note, a word of caution: During the initial rollout of major software updates like iOS 18, Apple users may experience slower download speeds and sluggish performance when trying to update their devices. This is largely due to the high demand on Apple's servers, as millions of users worldwide attempt to download the update simultaneously.

The surge in traffic can overwhelm network capacity, leading to delays in downloading or installing the update. To avoid these potential issues, you may want to wait a day or two before installing the update, allowing server congestion to subside and ensuring a smoother upgrade experience.

What about India (IST) time zone..? and India have any value in your post..?

"The surge of traffic", this is one reason why I always update everything the moment the RC is out as sod all is going to change between then and it's official release, it happens but not that often and extremely little will change anyway.

I usually wait until x.2 of any new OS. But not always. How long I wait for iOS 18 will depend on how many reports of issues I hear about - and the nature of those issues. But I never download an entirely new OS on the first day. Maybe in a couple of weeks… or closer to the end of the year.

You are though, just a matter of time since each language needs thorough language specific MLM

Sure, but even if I set my iPhone to English (US) instead of Dutch it won't work.

And I feel like it's not going to work within the next year. Because of the draconic EU legislation.

Let me know when .2 or .3 is out :) I'll upgrade to that a couple weeks after release, if no emergency .2.1 or .3.1 shows up...

I rely on my iPhone for work, but iOS 18 are mostly cosmetic, so it worked fine for me since DB2. No issues. 🖐️
