Here's When You Can Download macOS Monterey Today [Update: It's Out!]

Still indicates that 11.6 on my MBP 16" 2019 is the latest version. Perhaps M1 Mac get earlier update than Intel Mac?
 
macOS 12.0.1 now available - it was just 11 minutes past the expected time. If you don't see it - give it another minute.
 
Weird thing is that there is a macOS Big Sur update to 11.6.1 when I just checked. Where is macOS Monterey? I think my computer is still eligible for macOS Monterey. It's a 2017 MacBook Pro.

And odd thing is Big Sur update 11.6.1 wasn't available until today after 1pm. You'd think that if I needed 11.6.1 to get to macOS Monterey that 11.6.1 would have come out many days ago.....
 
Sigh, 11.6.1 is for people staying on 11. Such as where I work we're not going to be moving to 12 likely for ages as usual. It's not a big deal or a what's going on.

Seeing as you seem knowledgable, I need to ask a question.

I skipped Big Sur, however Id like to update to Monterey. It's not showing up, Do I need to update to Big Sur and THEN to Monterey? (I can't imagine that's the case, but hey, worse things have happened)

Having read some comments about 11.6.1 (that it might be for those remaining on Big Sur), I decided to quickly cancel my update. I'll restart the computer and hope that it'll see the macOS Monterey update.

Edit: well, I restarted my computer and still only 11.6.1 is showing up. I'm just going to update to 11.6.1 and then update again when the computer sees Monterey. I guess it'll be fine that way.

they roll everything out slowly across the country. give it a little time, the ios updates are out now as well.
