Hello everyone! So i recently placed a first, timid step on the Hermes/Apple Watch doorstep, thanks to the great help of some wonderful members of this community. No need to say that after having tried my first Hermes Band (a Double Tour) i fell in love with it, and with this topic. I'm still catching up (I have about 150 pages left of this thread to study). After the jump from the aluminum case to the SS, I think my next update will be towards a Hermes AW. I need those wonderful faces!!

In the meanwhile I'm lurking on this thread and drooling after all the bands. I'm really a newbie and since I loved the Double Tour so much (the old fashioned double tour, unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about the new Attelage Double Tour that seems to have replaced for good the classic one) I was hoping to find a good deal for a Simple Tour to pair with my current Silver SS Series 5. However, I find the sizes a bit hard to read.

I have a 40 mm watch and a 140 mm wrist. The Double Tour (fitting 135-155 mm) fits perfectly. But Single Tour for 41 mm fits wrist from 140-750 mm (reading on Hermes Website). With my wrist that is exactly 140 mm, I'm afraid the Simple Tour won't fit properly: it could fit, but the lenght of the strap would be too much to look classy, or it could be too loose even on the first hole (i like my bands snug).

Do I have to say goodbye to the idea of a Single Tour? ? Has someone already faced my dilemma?
Looking for opinions.

For references, here's how I wear the double tour: to the third tightest hole.

If you live near an Hermes store, you can take any of their leather bands in and they will add an extra hole for you. Note that extra holes cannot be added to the jumping single tours (the nylon would start to fray). So you’re out of luck with those bands. But leather single tours should definitely be doable!

Congratulations on your first Hermes band! It's difficult to resist the beauty and craftsmanship of these bands.

Regarding your size issue - I'm pretty much in the same situation but in the bigger size (42/44/45mm) segment. All bands are unfortunately a tad too loose. And as @Brisebelette and @MacDevil7334 pointed out, the only solution is to drop at a Hermès store and ask them to punch an additional hole. I've done so for two of my currently 5 bands - and the result is perfect. FWIW Hermès does that for free. So something to think about, if you decide to go down the Hermès rabbit hole (which is as beautiful as Alice in Wonderland). ;)

I have the same wrist you do. Very small. On Cartier LOVE bracelet I'm a size 15.

Only the double tour works on me because of the dimensions. I do own a single tour in the Circuit H collection (biscuit), I added a hole to it, but now I wear this band the least because it's lopsided. Meaning when I get it on the very, very last hole, there's a ton of leather to my existing strap. When I look at my watch face, I can't help but notice the tip of the leather strap. Also, the watch buckle is not sitting right, it's situated at far end of my wrist. All in all, regular single tours are not designed for us.

So going forward, I only recommend double tours for you, unless single tour shrinks in size, which I don't think so because it's a strap designed for normal sized wrists. I do hope you warm up to the new double tour design, to me, I prefer it, because I think it's got a delicate, elegant look.

Happy shopping. :);)?

Yeah that's what I was afraid of...I think I'll go with DT, at least until I have the chance to try a ST on and see if all the extra lenght bothers me (knowing myself yes, it does)!.

Thanks everyone!

Same issue with the bigger AW and the extra hole. It's not very nice but I can live with that. But I won't be buying any further Hermès straps because of that.

It was suggested ? I “share” my weekend find & purchase of this ? band from the Hermes store in Sydney. Very excited & happy!
Now we need to start “lobbying”/wishcasting for a blue with this quality. A full Bleu du Nord band the way they did Lin last fall would be fine and dandy, but also just a straight Capri or Surf analog would be great too.

this time I started with nylon
I can get another strap among these
blanc
gris meyer
noir attelage
do you have preferences? however, they will all be purchased in the coming months.
Can you post how they look on hand?
My watch is the H black and I am torn between the two...

Hey AWH fam

Current lurker

Soon to be family member.

(Unfortunately I couldn’t wait for the series 8 to come out as a PE/PH/ clot survivor I need a device for readings between hospitals visits)

I put my order in for a 41 SBSS with a gold swift single tour with Apple (after a week of back and forth discussions about not able to have a noir double tour sent with the order but the offer of ‘indigo with SS’) but with the SB it didn’t sit well with me for the price

But my question is
On the Apple site it shows the double tour as a 40mm band (from series 6) - has anyone paired that band with the S7? And if any fitting issues.

And I’ve read that people have been able to order a replacement sports band when wanting to get the orange band… what’s the best way to do this successfully as I would assume doing this as soon as I get the watch is ‘suss’ as a replacement??? Or Apple don’t mind given it is a paid purchase?

Welcome! And congratulations on your new Watch.

I don't think you will have any fitting issues as normally all bands should be compatible with previous models.

Awesome!!! I also have seen it’s like a hit or miss if the double tour fits - haven’t worn AW for years (S3 but swapped for a time piece and a HR monitor working out) but times have changed -
So keen to get the AWH ??? and that it fits

Malpractice!
I still want biscuit so bad. Can’t believe I missed a listing for 175usd. Rouge H is nice but I already have so many bands with that color. Trying and failing to convince my bf to get noir/elec every time one pops up.

@kobezzz could they bring back Circuit in the fall the way Rallye was kind of intermittent?
it is possible even if I see them as a very limited series. I expect strap like the Médor series maybe repurposed (it would be interesting)
strap with Bèton print instead of the Circuit or new series (it would be discounted)
strap with black hardware not with black color
Behapi "two-sided" bracelet-style straps cost over EUR 600 (it would be very interesting)

They’ve brought back so many colors the last two seasons, it would be cool for some of the funkier special styles to return too. Although I would hate to lose Rallye completion. Maybe a Gold Swift Rallye?

Did you guys noticed that the latest Hermès leather bands are coming WIDER?

Both my new Blanc and Gris Meyer straps had difficulties going through the buckle (they get kind of stuck). Maybe it is not big deal, but I asume this would impact the lifetime of the strap due to the constant friction with the buckle every time I wear them.
I returned them both and repurchased them again. And they both still have the same problem.
In the past I had that problem with the Orange, but I replaced it and the replacement didn’t have this issue.
Here is a comparison to show you.
I have 12 Hermes bands and only the Blanc and Griss Meyer have this problem.
