I start screen recordings via a button in control center though…I bet Siri can do it too.

I sometimes use the deployment buckle Hermes with my Ultra. It's been a great pairing for me. For sleep, S8 works better.
I find the brown and dark tones work really well with the Ultra. My Etoupe, Vert Rousseau, Noir Attelage, and Noir Double Tour all work nicely with my watch

I think I'm really going to pass out. I didn't realize Apple Hermes replaced Rose Mexico with Rose Texas. They are two completely different colors. WHAT???? Why didn't I go with Rose Mexico. Where to find it now?

I've been following this thread for years, admiring all your beautiful Hermès bands, and finally took the plunge with a Series 8 Hermès watch in September, which I love! Honestly, just the Lucky Horse face alone is worth the premium IMO 😆 However, that's not the reason I'm posting...
I've picked up a couple of double tour bands since then, I really like the unique look they have. I just received a Fauve Barenia double tour I purchased from eBay. It came in the retail Hermès box, and appears to be genuine except for the fact it's longer than my other double tour bands, and both sides of the band are stamped with an "L" before the 38mm marking. I also just noticed the label on the box has "L" at the end.
Presumably this stands for "long", but I have never heard of "long" 38mm double tour bands being sold before? The long part of the band is 2-3cm longer, and the short side about 1-2cm longer. Is this a thing? As I say, it appears genuine in every other way - correct markings on the buckle, correct shape of buckle, legitimate retail box, etc
I’ve attached some photos, would really appreciate your expert thoughts about what is going on here…

Wow. I really don't know. Looks good to me.
Best bet is always to take it into an Hermes store and try to punch an additional hole. See what they say.
This is why I never purchase my bands from a reseller, I think it's too much risk. I'd rather miss a few bands and colors than to not be sure.

Can you photo the steel lugs where they touch the inside of the watch? As well as the underside of the tongue?
Finally upgraded from my 44mm S4 to a 45mm for the always-on display. Held off for a long time because that’s truly the only feature I wanted. Haven’t been able to find a good photo of the size comparison. Probably gonna sell the 44mm with the Bleu Lin band.

I follow this thread quite a while as I plan to make a little Christmas present to myself. 😉 I have once owned a Apple Watch Series 4 Hermes and consider to buy Series 8. Is it worth to invest in the deployment buckle? I won't wear the Watch everyday (at least not with the Hermes strap) but I would like to keep the strap longer in good condition. On the other hand the plus (German Prices) for the deployment buckle is 200€ - that's a good start for just another strap. So what are your experiences?

The deployment buckle does appear to wear the leather down a little quicker due to its design but with every Hermès band you shouldn’t be wearing it every day anyway; even Hermès says to give them rest, they’ll look better longer if they’re not constantly taut and are put in their sleeves to flatten out between uses.

I disagree. The deployment buckle I think keeps the leather looking nicer longer since you are not having to constantly crease and pull the leather to buckle and unbuckle the band. You get less creasing and less wear around the sizing hole that the pin goes through with the deployment band. Now, whether that is worth an extra $200 is a very personal decision!
It's hard to get a good shot, but photo attached. They look exactly the same as the lugs on the Gold Single Tour that came with the watch direct from Apple. As does the stamp on the tongue.
Yeah I'm on the edge too, I wear regular Double Tours on the last hole. This one doesn't have much overlap in size coverage, it fits me on the first hole.

The selling point of the deployment buckle is the convenience it offers, so it’s understandable that most folks never want to deal with unbuckling it.
I prefer to flatten my bands out between wearing them and that’d require unbuckling every time. Bending the bands for a moment is fine—leather is elastic—it’s the continued stress (like from leaving it buckled) that reduces it’s ability to “bounce back” and wears the leather down permanently. To avoid this it needs time to rest and somewhat return to its original shape.
Hermès recommends storing the bands in their sleeves to do this. I go a step further, laying them out with a heavy towel folded over and that’s how my collection can keep looking fresh like this:
Of course, do whatever you think is best for you. Just know that if you look for used deployment bands, you can easily tell which ones were never unbuckled or stored properly.

No, though they look very similar still. I’m away from home at the moment but can post an up to date shot later if you’d like. The imprint from bar of the buckle is a little more visible on the Blanc band in photographs now but otherwise there’s not much of a visible change across the collection.
