The OP is comparing email on an iPhone to a Pearl? Um, how does that cramped Sure-type keyboard on the Pearl make it at all a contender for serious email use?? And the iPhone's true Exchange sync blows BIS out of the water.

Wow, I really did not mean to be inflammatory with my original post and I'm sorry if some of you took it that way. I was not trying to piss people off; as I wrote, I am a fanboy myself. I was just trying to start some dialogue and I appreciate that most folks contributed to it rather than take offense and take shots.

Did you really find it necessary to send me a PM regarding this topic?

Yep, I pm'd both of you, and only the 2 of you, b/c you're the only ones who, for some reason, took real offense to the original post and felt you were justified in attempting to rip me.

And to think I was hoping this thread would die, hence the pm's rather than bring it in here.

You're kidding, right? I always tell people that BB's are for corporate email. If you are on that garbage BIS, you can't even sync your email two ways (unless you have Yahoo), nor see your IMAP folders. That's because BIS doesn't do true IMAP. All it does is push incoming email to your phone.

Read this online petition if you don't understand what I'm saying.

Furthermore, if you don't have an email account with one of their partnered providers, you have to wait 15 minutes for your mail to arrive. There's no manual checking of email. Want to use MS Exchange with your BB? That's another $15 for BES.

Lol, you should've done your homework before coming here.

Dude, LOOK at the original post. None of what you are going about was even remotely mentioned in the original post. And you're not educating anyone with this mess; it's nothing that most didn't know.

Definitely. All they need to add is a folder called 'inbox' at the top to pool all email account folders on the iPhone.

However, the OP has no clue what he's talking about in regards to email. It's actually the BB w/BIS that's the big letdown.

Then you go on to agree that the iPhone has some ways to go to be a great email client, which is ALL I was saying, but of course you end it with a touch of class.

This thread has so much fail it's ridiculous. Like, why are WE expected to answer to YOU? It's not like we made the damn thing.

Email Stevie - see what what he says.

Relax bud. I was just trying to start some dialogue about the email client. No need to take offense.

This community is great, let's not continue this in the thread and waste everyone's time. If you MUST reply again, just pm me.

Ugh.

I'll admit I had to dump my 3G after 4+ months of use. I loved the phone and it worked great with one exception. I need to receive my email and NOT the next morning only after re-starting my phone.

A) You have it set up wrong.

B) Your phone is broke. (Meaning, the software on it, not physically.)

Those are the only two options here.

Sorry to be blunt, but it's the truth. My fetch with GMail fetches as it should. Of course, I like to conserve battery, so I just use manual.

Yeah, something is wrong there. My gmail fetches flawlessly.

so let me get this straight, if i email myself a document, lets say my resume. i can then forward that email and the attachment wont be stripped, but i cannot attach a document to an email? well thats just plain confusing. this is what really disappoints me about iphone email, little things like that. no landscape mode. every function that could use landscape should have it. it just cant be that hard. but i wouldnt trade my iphone for any other phone. well, maybe a 3g when 3g is everywhere, until then...

So you start a thread calling everyone a fanboy and you really think no one's going to feel offended?
