Ah, fair enough then! ;) Well here are a few of my old ones to jog your memory - let me know if any ring a bell!

I remember the third with the bug and the last with the hurt knee, the memory jog worked wonderfully. I remember the third the best, it was on a long time wasn't it?
Is the fourth one that Tron episode?

Excellent, glad that helped. :) Yes, I had the Bug one on a long time, and briefly afterwards I had the Adam West one before switching to my present one featuring one of my other all-time favorite cartoon characters.

And yep, that other one was a screenshot from the Tron episode.

Thank you for the tar comments, I have another classic one waiting in the wings. Shard, the tar with stewie and the bug always made me laugh. Thats one of my favorite episodes.

To quote the bug, "Goooood.... goooood....."

Ditto, you were one of the first people on this forum I recognized regularly.
Yellow almost made the slip with his 'tar change recently. I glanced at the name for some strange reason and was like, wait.

Yellow.....
isn't his 'tar supposed to be EL?

I was so confused.

The mods don't usually throw me when they change theirs'

But that edesign girl, man she's hot, she keeps changing her 'tar, but I always know it's her.

;)

Don't want to burst your bubble but edesign is not the girl in the tar. It is actually Kiera Kightley.

Cool! Yeah I used to notice you back when your 'tar video game buy cutting something. Also, Solon stood out to me because I was studying Solon (Greece?) at the time in school.
Yeah, Solon stands out to me too since one of my long-term gf's in college lived there. Spent a decent amount of time there - nice town, although some of the people are a bit snobby, IMO. It's a stupid reason but just for that fact wrldwzrd89's posts stand out more to me. Plus, his posts are usually well-thought out - that always helps too! :)

I get my 'tar in about 30 more posts. It'll be nice after lurking and visiting the site for years. I am glad you have to obtain 500 posts for a 'tar - makes it an accomplishment. I wouldn't have wanted to get a 'tar by contributing, which I have. I know some think it encourages spamming and stupid "me too" posts, but the moderation on MR is great and most of that is kept to a minimum.

When I first got here I thought the same thing.

I agree, and BTW you are one of the few who I've noticed that don't have a 'tar, maybe you're the only one. I remember looking at your name after reading a post (probably cause it wasn't trash). I'm glad I had to work for my 'tar.

I just wonder if any of my posts were ever dubbed spam. As I used to only post about MacBytes articles, and there isn't usually a lot to discuss over there.

I didn't think that at all. No girl that hot would use professional pictures like that as a 'tar on a geeky board like this, filled with mostly male posters - that would be like covering yourself in honey and jumping into a fire-ant hill. :D

I think we have a new movie plot for Kiera. :p

Hmm...interesting observation, feakbeak. I haven't noticed any of the snobbiness you noticed in Solon. I agree with your second paragraph 100% - having the 500 post requirement for an avatar combined with the great moderators here encourages everyone to make meaningful, constructive posts.

Sharewaredemon said:
Does anyone know when that was, or if it ever was?

Hmm, now that you mention it, I think he did have a different 'tar way back in the day, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I could be wrong of course...

Exactly. That's one of the many reasons why I like MacRumors - I've been on so many other message boards which are poorly run (if at all) and it's really counter-productive to be a part of them. There are a lot of intelligent members here, and as you said, any "unecessary" behavior is not tolerated. If you could get an avatar instantly, or after only a few posts, there would probably be even more newbies coming on board, only caring about their post count and their "pretty picture" as opposed to actually contributing to the discussions.

(By the way, I was so tempted to reply to your post simply with "Me too". :p ;))

Well that was several years ago and perhaps it was just my ex-gf's family and friends. :D

I did too at first glance, but I was already a fan of KK and figured it out quite quickly it was her and I just knew (sadly) should would not be posting on a board like this using those pictures....oh well, edesign can use them and I can pretend it's her, I doubt he would mind the connection :p

I did the same thing with yellow and his tar, since I didn't (sorry) know who EL was, I just assumed it was the poster with a nice photo to use....until I read a little bit deeper and saw the location and sig which gave it all away.

I think it is probably a common mistake among new people (new people being first time seeing a given tar) when users use female tars. Other than the professional quality they I think it is a general reaction to assume it is the poster in the tar because why else would they use a real-life picture?

You'd be surprised how many people think I'm a hill.

Wait, you're not a hill? Sh**! You realize this completely ends all ties and friendship we had right? I mean, our *connection* if you will was based solely upon summiting....wait, scratch that....it isn't going anywhere pretty.

Okay, so ummm, you're really not a hill? :p

And you know that I'm Harvey Birdman, right?

Oh good lord the sky must be falling....I could have sworn you were Batman reborn as a hawk.

Of course I knew you were Harvey Birdman, I watch cartoons as well :D Personally I have to say that I prefer Family Guy to Birdman, but change is good and all things have a shelf-life, so I am fine with your current tar decision as well.

How are things on the cartoon front? Anything new and interesting lately? (since I cannot keep up in France without TV and even then, I haven't seen a cartoon on TV here at other's homes anyway....)

I wanted to let you down slowly but... Sorry. I look nothing like my 'tar.

Today has to be one of the most emotional days I have had in weeks. First I find out you are not a hill, then that ~Shard~ is not infact Batman....*searches for pills*

Okay, calm the rage, calm the rage. You guys should have told me, secrets like this don't help friendships prosper you know. I mean, I have always been completely upfront about my appearance, as seen in my tar

Edit: I always thought you were mad because Jack and Jill kept spilling water all over you and rolling down your sides. Damn kids :p, now I simply don't know what to believe anymore.
