I've only noticed the eject button thing, which is great because I always hit it accidentally, the volume seems the same. (MacBook - Core Duo)
 
C'mon people -- stop wining about the cost of upgrading the OS! Is dropping a hundred bucks every other year really such a big deal?

Yeah, seriously people. You could do what me and my four fellow poor college students are doing: get together a group of five and split the cost of the family pack. Problem solved. Legal and it still puts money in Apple's pocket.

Family Pack Software License Agreement allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that same household. By "household" we mean a person or persons who share the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home or condominium, but shall also extend to student members who are primary residents of that household but residing at a separate on-campus location.

if you guys are living in an apartment, that's ok. but otherwise, i don't think you're supposed to be doing this.
