 Right now, I'd love to have that app back. Google's is absolutely the worst app on my entire device lineup.

Really? The only trouble I ever had was the video I'm wanting to watch isn't available for mobile devices, but then again, I use only once in a blue moon.

Springboard: Lock Screen Icon = Tigger

Ok, it's very obvious that all the icons in iOS 7 beta are all some kind of joke by Apple. Maybe they should have released the beta on April 1???

I predict iOS 7 final will have completely updated, more serious icons throughout the OS.

Isn't practical on the iPhone. You don't know what you want. Apple does.

Ok? There already is a jailbreak tweak that does multitasking through gestures - similar to activating Notification Center (which people thought Apple couldn't implement because of games using swiping gestures...).

Clearly they are thinking about the gestures as its in the Beta. I'm not saying it the gestures will definitely be there in the final release, but Apple is clearly entertaining the idea.

Yes. And I expect Apple to take popular JB tweaks and include them because that's what their customers (we) want.

The traditional wisdom is that we don't know what we want until Apple shows it to us.

Yeah, that was the case when Steve was alive, because he had that kind of convincing power. I'm quite sure that if he had demoed the iOS 7 in his own "isn't that amazing?" style, much less people would have been dissatisfied with the icons and everything.

Neither Craig Federighi, nor Jony Ive (let alone Cook) have that kind of persuasive skills.

More to come

I think there will be a lot of little features added before the final release and a at least one Major feature that will be 5S only.

Awesome. Nice to see improvements in features, this looks to be an exciting iOS version!

Still no finder. Meh. Why is it such a tall order to put a finder in iOS? I can understand not wanting one on a phone, but a tablet really needs some way to easily manage files. As it stands it's great for consuming paid content, but try loading a few hundred PDFs onto an iPad in an organized way - it's impossible. This is about the only area for me where Android kicks iOS up and down the block.

Does anyone besides me find it both ironic and hypocritical that the "flatter" iOS7 allows for "nested folders"?

I'm not sure it's hypocritical, I mean they're pushing the parallax effect, which if you look closely shifts not only the wallpaper in an inverted manner, but also the icons in the opposite direction. There are even settings for "perspective" in the parallax menu that shows -100 as 'distance from screen'.

Jonny also explained the layers in the promo video, with the wallpaper at the back and control centre etc at the front.

Upon seeing the nested folder I immediately thought that given the option, I'll reduce my phone to one screen and drill down like in the demo :D

Oh and I hope to god they reveal some/all of these settings in the final build in some 'advanced' pref pane!!!

Wish we didn't have to wait till fall for ios7 but it'll be worth it

Are any of Apple's ideas not copied from an existing jailbreak tweak.

Original. Not.

There are over a thousand jailbreak tweaks. It would be silly for Apple to go and look at every single tweak, just to make sure that it's never been done before on the jailbreak community.

You guys asked for these features, so don't complain when you get them.

These ideas are most definitely taken from the jailbreak community, which is fine. It means that Apple's recognizing something users want that was lacking before. The less JB tweaks I need to install, the smoother my iPhone will run. Then why does Apple make it so hard for each iOS to be jailbroken when they clearly (albeit secretly) appreciate the efforts of the JB community? I guess thats the million dollar question.

But, I feel like Apple should give some credit or acknowledgment to the original JB tweak author (ridiculously unlikely this would ever happen in a million years, I know). It would make the JB community much more likely to come out with better tweaks if they knew they could be hand-selected and featured by Apple in the future.

@adilda - It doesn't take long to search through Cydia for a tweak with a certain functionality. You don't think the 100s of Apple engineers have gone through the entire Cydia library with a fine-tooth comb? They most assuredly have, and anyone to think otherwise is plain ignorant.

With the bad publicity iOS7 already have it will be great to have those options in the final version. It will kill Android with no red lazer pointer needed.

Surely this is an accident or a beta only thing? Doesn't seem very Apple to allow users access to such detailed tweaks. Kind of flies in the face if Apple's safe user experience policy. I for one love it and am a strong believer that Apple can open up so much more without risking the user experience so this to me is great news.
