I might be the only one that considers the Goochi iPhone to look horrible. Its a nice color for a wedding but I don't think it fits with electronics.

For you it's a peace of electronics, for others it's fashion accessories.

It's a bloody new colour! Are you seriously suggesting that Apple should stay with the same colours forever, because a new colour is not "innovative"? I mean if new clothes designs were only allowed if they were "innovative", we would still wear the same clothes as 100 years ago.

+ a million sir ... + a freaking million

Woah! Everyone is doing a 180? Did anyone really think that apple was releasing a gold chain colored iPhone?

Look at the font of the word "iPhone" between and white and gold. They aren't the same font. I don't see Apple having different fonts on the back of the phones. I'm sure there is a gold one coming but I'm not convinced that this is it.

The black and white phones are existing iPhone 5 models.

The gold (case only) is a 5S. We can assume that the 5S will have the same font regardless of color.

It looks a lot better than the eye gouging gold renders that have been floating around.

BGR has a story on this where they say:

The shell shown in the pictures is painted a light champagne color, which seems to confirm rumors we’ve heard about the gold iPhone 5S having a much less gaudy shade of gold than many people had expected.

My question is why did people mock up gaudy shades of gold in the first place? Did people really think Apple was going to release some blinged out gold phone? When the silver and black versions are matte/muted tones? Really?

I think this is a natural color choice to add to their current metal line up. This definitely looks nice. I'm getting one if so. I wonder if the glass part will still be white or a champagne color as well?

I don't understand how they can expect the champagne to look good with the cartoonish iOS 7.

Why do we see finished black/slate and white/silver iPhones but only an unfinished gold/champagne chassis here?

On top of that, the finished models have regulatory markings, the gold/champagne "model" does not.

I'm not convinced this is the real deal here.

It's being compared to existing iPhone models.

China knockoffs are that color gold.

I love how all the people first spazzed out over the rumor are suddenly like, oh classy or I would buy that...

I didn't say that anyone said it was.

It's just that the hype around a new colour is just ridiculous. If that's what all the talk is about, and believe me, a decent portion of the September 10 event will be about the new colour(s), well that is a sad state of affairs for Apple IMO.

The phone has never been offered in any more than white and black. It's a big deal when it gets a new option. No one is saying that there is some innovative aspect of the color.

The phone is wrong on the white iphone, not the gold one. see how the arch on the 'h' comes to a point on the line. It doesn't do that on the current generation iphone. Also, if you look at the font really closely, the font is engraved a bit. So I think it's because of the protective layer on the back, but the font on the gold one is in fact correct compared to the current generation.
