looks a lot better than the silver white one imo and i usually hate gold

well the iPhone 5 is indeed called White & Silver or Black & Slate.

probably gonna be the high end 128GB only edition ^^

I'm guessing there might be a high possibility that the champagne color will only come in the 128GB version as well. As the high-end model.

judging by the black apple logo on the back its gonna be black on champagne?

Based on the change from the silver apple logo on the new Time Capsule and Airport Extreme it's my guess we will be looking at black Apples on everything this year. Except of course for the laptops.

The black logo is probably just reflection, but it they did do champagne plus black it would be a near return to the 2-tone look of the black 4 and 4S. Which I liked better than slate and black.

Whatever color it turns out to be, Samsung will innovate it soon after :)

Double down on security my ass - Phil Schiller. :D

You don't think Apple has always done this on purpose? It's a marketing trick for them... Apple releases a new iPhone every ~12 months. It takes 2-3 months to catch up on inventory after release. The next 6 months are filled with regular consumers who don't mind having a phone a few months old. But the next 3 months are the problem. Early adopters and apple fanatics know not to buy the phone because they can wait a few months for the next newest thing, the average consumer doesn't want a phone that is almost going to turn 1 year old but they don't care enough to wait for a new iPhone, they'll get whatever else is new-ish. So Apple starts planting seeds that build up hype among the early adopter and Apple fan base, which results in us telling our friends and family to wait until September, which results in them telling their friends and family, and the cycle goes on and on. :D

Point being, this isn't an 'accident'.

So far, including one in this article, I haven't seen one real gold color that I think would pass the apple high standard.

Um, it looks like the same color scheme as the very first iPhone. I can't believe people are so shocked by this.

The antenna gaps are white though, I think it's just the angle of the photo making the logo look black.

I was thinking this too. I laughed after reading your comment though because I then looked at your avatar to see Fry squinting...as if you were really looking to make sure the angle is causing the Apple logo to appear black.

The Apple logo on the back is not black...

This gold color seems to be similar to "old gold". I hope the release this phone with a black face instead of a white.
Black will contrast better with the gold the white will. Also this it will be a black and old gold phone. The color of Purdue. Boiler Up!

Wow the least popular car color among other things is all of the sudden classy and elegant because Apple used it on a phone. yawn

This is seriously quite nice. Not at all flashy or gaudy. If the color in these latest pictures is accurate I think I'll take it over either the black or the white versions.

For you it's a peace of electronics, for others it's fashion accessories.

a car is just a vehicle. by your judgmental logic, nobody should get their car in a color they enjoy.

riiiight.

Nice photoshop try, but all the "designed by apple in California, assembled..." micro type as well as all the consumer symbols are missing from the gold one.

because it's not finished. it's a leaked part shot.

it's happening. just like the last minute leaked photos from last year happened. and the year before that, etc. how many times does the same stuff have to happen for people to stop denying it's happening?

I don't understand how they can expect the champagne to look good with the cartoonish iOS 7.

by that logic 99% of the colored or patterned cases on the market shouldnt exist. uh huh.

Doesn't look that bad actually, but I will be sticking to white for my next iPhone

what nonsense. the previous pictures (mockups?) were a lot more blingy gold and the reception here was overwhelmingly negative. this one looks much better and the comments reflect that.

that is no more a black apple logo than the white one's is a dark gray (which is actually silver). it's just a reflection.
