Haven’t read the comments to this but I just know it’s filled with toxic masculinity lmao
Still less toxic overall than the dismissive and frankly dangerous attitude of covering one’s eyes and ears about a subject while instead making baseless, sweeping generalizations and assumptions.

I probably was blacklisted years ago... I've had sharp criticisms of Chinese government going back to the late 70s. I get sent straight to the cavity search when arriving on plane anyway because of some of the places I've been.
Sounds like a good time to me. 🥳

Yeah, that's the best I got. (As a retired US Army Ranger and Special Forces operator, I was in Bosnia when she "landed under sniper fire". The only thing she landed to was a bunch of children handing her flowers as she stood waiting by her escort for about 15 minutes.). And, in reality, there are those of us who have "landed under sniper fire". Some of us, many times. So her lies for a momentary sound bite do a lot of disservice to the rest of us.
So, when did you serve?
And, do please, share with us your thoughts about Cadet Bone Spurs?

A credit to the profession of arms, perhaps?

How exactly irritating is a documentary series with an agenda to feature women like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Helen Keller, Maria Von Trapp, Mary Ritter Beard, Harriet Tubman, Edith Windsor, Anne Frank, Ada Lovelace, Marie Curie, Sally Ride, Clara Barton, Eleanor Roosevelt, Malala Yousafzai, and many others?

Don’t watch it you don’t like that “irritating agenda” 🤷‍♂️
Well said.

No, the current occupant of the White House is the greatest president since Reagan. The incoming one though, barf!

Actually, he will vie for the position of worst president ever.

I'll watch. She was a flawed candidate, but I disagree with the extent to which people believe that.

After four years of Trump, the whole Hillary email and Benghazi scandals look like spilled milk. She's not the never-ending stream of surprising and insane circus of stupidity that Donald Trump is, but I reckon it will be interesting.

Agreed.

She’s a privileged princess from the most corrupt family in politics. Apple got scammed
No, the most corrupt family in politics would be the Trump family.

Well, she was likable by a majority of Americans who voted in the last election, it's just that the majority of the popular vote isn't how presidential elections are decided.

Exactly.

She won the popular vote, quite substantially, which areas against the notion that she was "an unpopular" candidate.

And yes, I do know that achieving victory in the primitive political system (designed in the late 18th century to protect the interests of small states and slave holding states) known as the Electoral College is what matters.

(always the same old stuff)

🥱 The last few presidential runs have all been full of terrible people, we should be able to do so much better. If we're going to talk about primitive political systems, how about we discuss the better issue of the corrupt two party system currently infecting our government right now...but maybe in a more relevant thread.

Back onto the topic at hand, it is hilarious these two were chosen for the docuseries but not unexpected given current social trends. There's certainly nothing "gutsy" about them as they've never known what it's like to have to work for anything.

Typical posts complaining about a show they haven’t seen. You have made up your minds with no evidence.

pretty sad state we are in today.
No, I wrote that I found the show idea interesting, but I am pissed off that they are featuring a corrupt politician and despicable person to host it. And don't call me a "typical (MR) poster." I have never judged an Apple TV+ show negatively before watching it, including the Oprah shows. But there's such a thing as having an extremely toxic personality, who you would expect to turn people off if hired as a host. There's no world where I would watch this person lecture me.

The involvement of politicians always causes damage, collateral damage, directly and indirectly. Whatever the nature and size of involvement is. This is not good for Apple, nor anyone.

Meh, that’s one opinion. I personally think her “Likeability“ issue was created by white men who were afraid of her. It’s the primary reason she lost in 2016 I believe.

Ha, but I must agree, that to pay Russians for a phoney hit piece on your opponent, then flip the script, plus deleting all of your incriminating emails takes real balls!
She is a hack, pure and simple.

Dunno. Why not ask Joe Biden about his son, while you're questioning? You know, Hunter Biden who was summarily booted out of the US Navy for drug use. Or you could ask Mr. "Stolen Valor" Dick Blumenthal about his time in SE Asia "when we were in Vietnam". (Although the lying pr**k never set foot in Vietnam). Or maybe you can ask Bill Clinton about his "student deferment" and then, after graduating, how he pulled some interesting stunts to avoid military service? And, finally, if you knew anything about the military - which you obviously do not - you would know that having any sort of foot problems like bone spurs is a legitimate reason for a medical disqualification from service.

As it happens, Hunter Biden wasn't running for office, - his father (and brother) were - whereas Cadet Bone Spurs (in other words, the deplorable Mr Trump) was very much seeking public office.

While a condition of "bone spurs" may indeed serve as a valid - or legitimate - ground for medical disqualification - thereby exempting one from having to serve in Vietnam, - my concern here isn't with bone spurs, per se, as with the fact that Mr Trump, who lies as naturally as he breathes, claimed to have the condition.

Moreover, given Mr Trump's pathological mendacity, I will reserve judgment as to the veracity of his claim - I think that receiving five deferrals - the last one of these for a what can only be considered to be a spurious bone spur condition - must rank as something of a record.

Re Mr Clinton, he never claimed to be in favour of the war, and - for that matter - neither did a pseudo-military education while busily posing and posturing in gaudy uniforms serve as a definition of identity for him, which was the case for Mr Trump. Instead, Mr Clinton won scholarships which enabled him to attend some of the world's best universities (and both Yale and Oxford fall into that category).

Nevertheless, if we are to take a look at the offspring of Mr Biden, might I refer some of you instead to Beau Biden, - and it is instructive that he has been overlooked in this discussion - who served his country with honour, courage and dignity, both as Attorney-General of Delaware and as an officer who served in Iraq.

To every poster who has a negative reflex reaction to anything linked to Hillary Clinton, please just take some time to digest the list of people this series is likely to tell stories of:
  • Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
  • Helen Keller
  • Maria Von Trapp
  • Mary Ritter Beard
  • Harriet Tubman
  • Edith Windsor
  • Anne Frank
  • Ada Lovelace
  • Marie Curie
  • Sally Ride
  • Clara Barton
  • Eleanor Roosevelt
  • Malala Yousafzai
and think of a good reason those stories don’t deserve even wider recognition by audiences all over Earth.

Why tie these stories to the Clintons? Cant they find Accomplished women reporters to tell these stories.
It is shame that the political class continues to reap the benefits in society while many talented, capable artists are struggling. I don't care where you fall on the political spectrum, constantly retreading the "elite" for projects like this makes it more difficult for minorities to gain access. This is apathetical to the entire social justice movement. And I hate them, lol.

Thats what is sad about the whole thing, its like always the same people who get these opportunities. Corporate wokeism. All about milking it.

Chelsea Clinton is a politician??? What? When did that happen? What branch of government office was she elected to?
Please let me know because I truly have no opinion of her. Nor do I know what exactly makes her toxic? Or what it is about her that bunches up underwears of people? Is it her last name, maybe??

I don’t like any politicians. In private they might be regular people but professionally they all scam, cheat and lie to maintain their political careers. The more nobler they appear the bigger the lies. Especially don’t trust the ones who use words like ‘the people’. It’s usually a code word for ‘donors and lobbyists’.

While I will accept that Chelsea Clinton was born into what passes in the US for a privileged background, Hillary Rodham Clinton earned her university degrees and her law licence - and sat and achieved excellent grades in her exams - and practiced law, at a time when it was not easy for a womna, especially a womna from her background, to do so.

Moreover, she comfortably won election to the US Senate, and served as President Obama's Secretary of State.

So, no, unlike Mr Trump, who had to have everything handed to him, and failed at most of what he touched, Secretary Clinton worked for what she achieved.

Ad she still won the popular vote, for all that some on these threads and elsewhere moan at length about her lack of "likability".
