I didn't want this to turn into a political debate, or fuel it.
But honestly, what you're saying is really ignorant.
I live in a village, with less than 2500 people. In order to go to a hospital, I have to drive at least 30 minutes. We have a clinic, but nothing that can do anything beyond a common cold and broken bones.
My school is 15 minutes away by car.
My college is 30 minutes away as well. This is my LOCAL college.
My next door neighbor isn't even visible from my window.
...(etc.)
Not going to enter this particular discussion, but just chiming in to say that I really don't think he was referring to people in your kind of situation. Many of us do what we can when it's practical, but such things aren't always possible. I don't think what Evangelion was saying was ignorant; I think you just took it the wrong way. I may be misinterpreting, but I'm pretty sure the intended target of Evangelion's is the people who drive needlesly gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs when they don't need one, don't care if they litter or use many kWatt-hours of energy more than they need, and don't give any thought to who has the best interest in their future when they cast their votes.
More on topic, I hope the iPod Touch price drops soon. I would really love a new model when June comes around, but a price drop (and perhaps more memory?) would be great. I don't have one yet, since I've been waiting for 802.1X support (and for the funds), but I really hope I can get one sometime this summer, and a price drop would be most welcome.
