I absolutely agree. I can't see Apple doing 2 flagship models. Beisdes the C version has been selling great, so there's no point in killing a model a year after introduction. Besides 5,5" phone would be very unApple. I'm wondering though: if they release the iPhone 6 and 6C now, then what do they call them next year? Will they call the upgraded C model C2? It would be very confusing to have consecutive iPhone 6Cs if they were to differ radically (4" 5S internals vs iPhone 6 internals). Or will they leave the 6C (5S in plastic) for two years in a row when the iPhone 6s arrives... Or maybe they'll go straight to iPhone 7...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to a bigger screen iPhone, though I was hoping they would abandon the big bezel+home button design. Based on the mockups I can visualise a bigger screen in the same case, had they only removed the home button - maybe building the finger print sensor into the screen... Maybe someday. Don't get me wrong. The supposed iPhone 6 looks okay, I'm sure it will be a great phone and I know that 5S's sales are great and obviously Apple doesn't need to throw a revolution, but I would expect something out of the box from them. The smartphone market seems stale and there have been some interesting designs coming from the Android side of the fence - HTC M8 being a beautiful example. I'm sure Apple could beat that. I would love Apple to beat that. Otherwise the iPhone 6 will be just an "okay" - as high standard as Apple is, but still... rather "ok", than "WOW". At least for me.
I agree, I think there is no more iPhone "c" anymore, unless the 5s case is too costly and Apple favor to sell it as the iPhone 5cs on a plastic shell.

I own an M8 and I have to say it's the only android which Apple has features to copycat, but not the dual cameras (very low resolution, otherwise excellent), but few less know rocking features as the excellent dual frontal speaker array, by far the best on any mobile yet, other is the 5mpx selfie camera (frontal camera) no comments, and the HD audio which allows to play lossless FLAC 24bit@96khz simple the true audiophile experience.

My bet is that Apple launches the 4.7" iPhone as keep the 5s as alternative cheaper model, maybe on a plastic shell as the iPhone 5cs, and launches an 5.5" iPod touch aimed at gamers and just on time for Xmas sales as they ever did.

how about NO to everything u just said

Why?

Its sort of like BMW 3 vs 5 vs 7 series. Same sausage, different lengths.

Apple (or the market if they don't - which is probably what the picture indicates) will make a naming distinction between the two iPhone 6 sizes. For example, how would you order a case for the iPhone 6 without stating which size... and Apple is all about smooth flowing design and image - I doubt they really want to call their iPhones the "iPhone 6-4.7 inch" and the "iPhone 6-5.5 inch" ... or worst yet the "iPhone 6 Smaller" and "iPhone 6 Bigger"

I like simplicity.

Think about it, what would a "6s" next year have (or need) that the 6 won't have this year. Minor tweaks? The 5 vs 5s had a major change (the fingerprint sensor)... Apple can release a tweaked iPhone 6 in 2015, without adding "s" ... at some pint the number naming is going to get silly - I can't wait until the iPhone 10s... iPhone 22... etc.

I suspect that the numbering will soon disappear altogether.

Sapphire Display ;) and more speed per usual. u just cannot not release a device for a year. technology changes too quickly
More ram, new battery tech with twice or more life than current generation, touch-less touch screen with hover mode, off-line Siri, dual sensor cameras, usb3, wifi mimo for upto 2gbps transfers, satellite data link, ultra high speed camera with 500fps+ capture .

Just to name few things available now fragmented at many android device, add to this whatever Johnny Ive's Imagination deliver plus 3d party inventions...

They will release a iPod touch that size but not a phone? Makes no sense at all...

Probably not. That's why I said a "tiny chance."
But...

1. If Apple really is planning to make 5.5" iOS devices, and
2. If 5.5" screens are in short supply (due to potential sapphire production delays), and
3. If Apple wants to boost iPod touch sales, and
4. If there is a Numbers spreadsheet in Cupertino that says this all is profitable...

... then Apple might do a 5.5" iPod touch before a 5.5" iPhone.
But yeah, I agree. Not likely at all..

What's is likely only the 4.7" iPhone will be the only one with sapphire screen (as the leaks seems confirmate), and since the 5.5 iTouch will receive an lower tech screen (sure not igzo as the iPhone) thus will receive only gorilla glass protection, being actually cheaper than the smaller causing.

I still bet on an 4.7" iPhone 6 with an 5.5 iTouch counterpart launched at the same even and available the iPhone earlier than the iTouch as always, and the iPhone 5s moved as the entry point maybe on a plastic shell as the iPhone 5cs maybe not.

i think apple already knows a 5.5" phone will sell super well based on a lot of factors. They know the 4.7 will sell more but want to put out different options for people and actually partake in this larger phone world that it WILL head in. Staying with the small phone screen for so long has hurt them(even though they still sell a crap ton right now). I predict phone first no way an iPod touch comes first or even the same time as the phone. iPod touch in these larger sizes next year.

i doubt the existence of the 5.5" iphone. All the parts shown so far have been elaborate hoaxes made by samsung so their competitors don't know exactly what to expect. When the 4.7" phone is the only one released, only sammy will know the truth and will be waiting with the perfect counter release product.

i was right all along!
