Curious - my opinion has been that PayPal like it or not is going to win as the "accepted" way and Apple Pay will linger one day until it dies or is just transparently part of the picture. I suspect we will all be using the Paypal app via NFC to do transactions like it or not

Considering way more people already know about Apple Pay compared to PayPal, let alone anything about using PayPal via VNC, seems like PayPal already lost that battle (and long ago too).

Eh. Home Depot is like the Walmart of the home improvement stores.

Yeah they have everything you need, but the stores are disorganized and messy.

Every time, every single damn time, I'm in a Home Depot, I get frustrated and say "**** it, I'm going down the street to Lowe's."

I'll deal with using plastic to avoid that mess of a store.

To be honest, if it's messy, it's not the company, it's the management within that store. It's Home Depot, not the Taj Mahal. Stop whining. Lowes has ridiculous pricing, and they don't know how to pack down their shelves, trust me, I used to work there. Home Depot, which I also used to work at, pays their associates more money, and doesn't fuss over markdowns like lowes does. Trust me, a company that makes billions of dollars a year isn't going to be worried about a bunch of us boycotting them because of a payment method that some other company doesn't even off either. Walmart gives people crap just for returning without a receipt... the Walmart of home improvement stores would be lowes, who are still working with old store systems from when I worked there in 2008. They haven't upgraded at all. Home Depot will continue to have my business, because I am not a baby like all the people on this thread, and have google wallet downloaded on my IPHONE.

So while you're at lowes paying their ridiculous prices, I'll be shopping at Home Depot.

Most make you insert the chip yourself now. I'm fine with that. I'm glad they have chip enabled. I'll rarely want to swipe now.

Agree with every word of that. My house is in a state of perpetual remodeling and I do a LOT of shopping. I'll hit Lowe's sometimes if I'm in that part of town, but I'm always more satisfied with Home Depot. Can't find something? Pop open the app. Wrecking bar - Aisle 15, bay 013 easy peasy. Self check-out stations are quick and easy, insert the card into the chip reader and it asks if I want a receipt emailed to my address on file. Yeah, wish they did Apple Pay but not deal breaker in any way.

Plus, Home Depot scored 100 on the HRC 2016 Corporate Equality Index, up from 90 in 2015. Lowe's scored 20. That's reason enough for me to give them more business than Lowe's.

And the CEO of Home Depot, like Menards, and Walmart, fund some of the most reprehensible politicians out there,
