Does anyone know if the cord is built in or detaches?
WTF seriously? I'll buy later in the year when it's discounted on closeout cause nobody wants half-assed crap.No multi-room audio yet. From the press release...
"Coming this year in a free software update, users will be able to play music throughout the house with multi-room audio."
They do know the Echo is $99, right?
And Google Home Max is $399.They do know the Echo is $99, right?
Why do you call it 'their' obsession? You're the one who seems to have a problem with it.I'd like to own one because of how awesome the sound everyone has said it has. However I simple refuse if it doesn't support spotify. It's such a dumb decision by apple if they never allow you to use it with spotify... it's tiwce as big as spotify and still growing at a faster rate despite already having far more users.
It's a shame they're going to lock out the majority of the market due to their obsession with trying to get people to only use apple software.
Plus - the Echo includes free surveillance! They do know the Echo is $99, right?

Because Amazon’s business model isn’t making money off hardware. Apple’s is.They do know the Echo is $99, right?
I’m confused. Does this mean AirPlay 2 is officially out? Apple hasn’t mentioned a word about it...

Pretty sure it is. Isn’t it the same for some of the Echos? If the power is wired only, then that's a deal-breaker for me. I'll keep my Bose SoundLink Mini.
When Apple says "this year", it is going to be December, if not December 31....No multi-room audio yet. From the press release...

Unfortunately, with no confirmation that it can be a soundbar for your home theatre, right? I would love to use this with my Apple TV's in rooms that don't have a Sonos setup. It’s more like a soundbar replacement than a personal assistant.![]()
Because it is an obsession with apple. For years they didn't even allow you to remove stock apps from your list of apps on your phone. You still can't change the default apps on iOS... you've been able to do this on every other mobile or non mobile OS for absolutely any piece of software since forever, but not on iOS, but have to have mail and safari set as default. Why do you call it 'their' obsession? You're the one who seems to have a problem with it.
