Gotta love that everything is being leaked now right ahead of the event. No more ah’s and oh’s for the most devoted fanboys trawling the news sites hours before The Unveiling
I know I really should stop reading internet news a few days before an apple event. It’s like reading spoilers for game of thrones. I want to be shocked and surprised with apple keynote.

Is there any way to use Homepods as...you know...just regular speakers, as in, can these somehow connect to a Home Cinema System.
There are plenty of Airplay enabled Home Cinema Systems available, if I just play from the built in radio or any other source will that play over the Homepods?

I still don't know what a HomePod does. Is it a speaker for music or a smart speaker for home automation? Or does it do neither of those things well?

My understanding is it's a great music speaker and a ****** smart speaker.

I hope they use the same spatial awareness technology that the AirPods Pro have to support surround sound/dolby atmos.
They won’t support Dolby Atmos, there’s a lot more to Atmos than just “surround sound”, real Atmos requires upward firing speakers.

Basically this, although it depends on your definition of smart speaker. Can it control smart home devices? Yes, it sure can!* But is it actually smart, like answering questions for you or running speech-based apps and games like Echos can? Nope.

*as long as those devices support HomeKit because it can't link to any other smart home infrastructure

When I got UE speaker, I like the Boom 2 design and disliked the Wonderboom.

The original Homepod just looks better than these bulky round design.

I like the design. The real question is how will it sound and what features will it support? I’d love to have a HomePod in just about every room in my house but that would cost way too much. These could be a good affordable alternative. These won’t sound as good as the regular HomePod but if they sound good enough I’ll be buying several.

I’m more exited by the HomePod mini than I am with the iPhone 12. Other than 5G support there isn’t much about the 12 that is enticing to me. If I was into photography or shooting video it would be a different story but I’m not.

The mainline HomePod sounds incredible. I just hope the HomePod Mini gets somewhat close to that.

I think it needed to be leaked to have a chance to get used to the design... not a fan, if real.
Tbh I laughed when I saw the google mini redesign, now this! Damn, you can tell Ive has left the building !

They start their Oct 13 show off with the HomePod mini!

Pitching it with strong integration to home automation.
