Although the existing HomePod and Siri works for me, I hope they also announce that siri will be way better with better improvements with the me HomePod mini release.

Do we know yet if this going to replace the existing HomePod, or is this in addition to?

If i wasn't already so deep in the Sonos ecosystem I'd definitely have a one or two free spots in my apartment that these would fit in nicely.

still a bit pricey given the market. $79 would have been better. someone mentioned a clock. i think a little lcd would have been a nice value add.

In addition to sharing what appear to be official images of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, reputable leaker Evan Blass today has shared images of what he claims is the widely-rumored "HomePod mini" in black and white.

While the existing HomePod has a rounded, cylindrical design, it appears that the HomePod mini will feature a more spherical design, with a similar mesh finish available in black or white. A flatter top surface will house touch controls for volume, playback, and more, and a large multicolored light will appear when Siri has been activated.

Last week, a reliable leaker who goes by the alias "Kang" claimed that the HomePod mini will be announced alongside the iPhone 12 lineup at Apple's event today, with orders to begin in mid-November for $99. The speaker will allegedly be 3.3 inches tall, compared to the existing 6.8-inch HomePod, and be powered by the same S5 chip as the Apple Watch Series 5.

Apple's event begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time today — here's how to watch. Follow along with MacRumors for live coverage of the announcements.

Amazing that there was no leak at all until now. I would have never expected them to be round.
They're so cute I might just buy one of each, just because.

Home, Alexa, now Apple.. I guess round is the new 'it' for these kinds of devices?

PS: I really hope there is a 'one more thing' moment today, 'cuz everything done leaked.

Not happening considering iOS 14 came and went with no smarter Siri other than 20x trivia knowledge.

Introducing a potential Siri 2.0 via a point release sounds like a stupid idea, considering they need all the goodwill they can get in terms of Siri acceptance.
