I’m playing in a stereo setup with mini and my airplay 2 Samsung tv, sounds Really good! Don’t have a sound bar so just tv’s sound speakers...and mini obviously.

I think its better just for them to swap for a brand new one since that is kind of alot for a repair for a $300 speaker
Ya I think if it is out of warranty they want you to get a new one so they put the repair cost so high. BS move! How old is it?

I'd book a genius bar appointment and see if they'll fix it since it's one of their update's that bricked it, 50/50 chance they'll fix it for free, I've taken an 18 month old MacBook Pro that was suffering from Kernel panics in to see how much it would be to fix (no Apple Care) they said I'd need a new motherboard at £700 but they said they'd do it for free as it shouldn't be doing that after only 18 months.

Oh wow - I thought you can only use the stereo speakers for Apple Music and Apple TV? So if you have a normal newer Samsung tv can you use the speakers for normal ( non-Apple tv) viewing? If so how do you set that up?

I ordered a white one and a space gray one in the same order a few minutes after they went on sale in the U.S. Oddly the space gray is shipping from MIDDLETOWN, PA and was picked up by FedEx earlier than the white one, which is shipping from DUNCANSVILLE, PA and is scheduled to arrive a day later. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: Turns out they are both coming from MIDDLETOWN, PA and will be delivered Tuesday (tomorrow) by 8pm.

my in store pickup order from apple only allowed me to set a time tomorrow for pick up, but the status is ready for pick up now. Think they will turn me away if I try to pick it up today?

Im U.K. based and as with the iPhone 12 Pro, I waited for it to go live on John Lewis. Just ordered a space grey HomePod mini and it’s due for delivery tomorrow. With the added bonus of the John Lewis extended 2 year warranty - I don’t think I’ll buy from anywhere else moving forward.

So for anyone in the U.K. who doesn’t fancy waiting till January - John Lewis currently have them in stock for next day delivery.
Hi
Do you remember roughly what time they went live on John Lewis website??

I believe that the HomePod was first introduced / available in Feb 2018, so if you purchased right away, then it could be as old as ~ 2 ½ years.

(edit: MacRumors HomePod roundup states that it was launched on Feb 9, 2018)
I think I kind of picked up in the apple store couple months later

I go in before my time all the time and they allow me. Try it

I’ve just got home from work, set it up, played a few songs and had a play around and... now I want another few.

Getting a couple delivered tomorrow, but from the reviews I'm thinking of getting more for around the house if they're as good as claimed
Now I’m not an audiophile, but it’s better than I was expecting. I have an Echo dot in the bedroom and it’s miles better than that. It sounds clear and crisp and will go louder than you expect but not as loud as Sonos, as expected.
I think I’ll get another to stereo pair with my Mac in my office. I’m hoping they’ll update the larger HomePod with U1 and maybe extra features so I can get those for that sweet sweet Dolby Atmos (provided I can get most my context on Apple TV.)

Anyone else having trouble with UPS tracking number? I received it yesterday around Noon, but UPS still can't find the shipment in their online tracker. Used My Choice to check for inbound packages as well, but nothing there. Any ideas? Estimated delivery date is tomorrow (11/17).

The fact that these are 99 bucks a pop is astonishing for Apple, couple that with the fact they're including a power brick that costs £19 retail then they must be the cheapest Apple product out there😲

Had a pair of full sized HomePods that were amazing, only reason I got rid of them was my TV now has the Apple TV & Music app built in and that's hooked up to a full Atmos surround sound setup, but if they update the big HomePod to allow a link with the Mini's that may be something to behold, only downside would be the number of plug sockets necessary.

damn this is my fear. I have a Sonos one in my bathroom and I love the sound!! I just want a Siri speaker in the bathroom, so that's why I order a mini.

Apple is doing a great job with these HomePod speakers - the original ones sound terrific, and the reports on the mini are also great. I'm anxious to get my own this week.

I agree that the price for the mini is remarkable for Apple. They must really want to broaden their market for smart home customers, since the mini can also be used as a hub and to access Siri. Could really be a standout product for them this year.

Beginning to wonder if this is part of a larger plan on Apple's side, I.E. imbed the tech see how it works with other home automation products then improve on that and launch their own range🤔

I had the same issue. My tracking just got activated a few hours ago with delivery within 24 hours. Don’t worry, keep excited 😜

Yes. And the Apple equivalent to the $30 Echo Dot is the $99 HomePod mini!
