The availability of HomePod mini is now at its lowest since Apple's new smart speaker went on sale last month, with shipping times across Europe having already slipped into next year in many cases.

In the United Kingdom, France, and Spain, for example, the delivery time for a HomePod mini ordered today in either space gray or white is as long as five to six weeks, and in Germany has even slipped to between six and seven weeks, taking shipping into mid-January.

In fact, with the exception of the U.S. and India, global stocks of HomePod mini are so low right now that anyone seeking to have one shipped for a holiday gift and who has yet to get their order in is very likely going to be disappointed.

Wait times in the Asia Pacific region are less consistently pronounced but still relatively long, with HomePod mini shipping times in the first wave of launching countries, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia, ranging between four and six weeks. As mentioned, one exception in Asia is India, where customers can have either color of HomePod mini shipped to their door in seven to 10 business days.

In Canada, the space gray model takes four to five weeks to arrive when an order is placed today, but the wait time for the white HomePod mini is five to six weeks. Apple's home base in the United States remains the best place to still pick up one of the speakers for the holiday season, with delivery times in the region of two to four weeks, depending on color choice.

Meanwhile, in-store pickup options vary from country to country, but remain the best chance to get a HomePod mini or two before the holiday break. In many countries, HomePod mini orders are limited to two per customer.

Costing $349 at launch, the original 2018 HomePod was considered by many to be too expensive compared to rival products and it failed to capture a significant portion of the smart speaker market. To improve sales, Apple in 2019 cut the price of the ‌HomePod‌ to $299, and still sells the device alongside its smaller $99 siblings, which appear already to be on a more positive track, based on their initial reception.

The first wave of HomePod mini launches occurred in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the United States. Availability in Mexico and Taiwan commenced on Monday, with availability in China expected soon.

If you in the UK then check out the in store pickup option. I ordered two on Friday and was able to pick them up at the local Apple store yesterday. They have stock for collection later this week too.

They’re both available for store front collection in London & John Lewis show stock of white version online

FOR ANYONE IN THE UK

If your with EE they have it In Stock on their Add To Plan, it’s £10 upfront then £9 a month for 11 months, yeah it’s an extra £10 but if you need one for Christmas present give them a shout.

Apples Australian site has said January since a few days after launch.
Most stores here are advertising but apart from the few that got dribs and drabs of stock upon launch the rest of them are advertising as "coming soon" or expect delays.

Going to be a lot of disappointed people on xmas day if there is zero stock in Australia due to Covid delays on shipping.

All that waiting and they are probably a load of crap anyway.

As far as i can tell from searching online they have that boxed in sound just like the original HomePod, no tone or treble, just loads of base.

Is it common for industry, that after launching the product, the delivery slots are for the next two months? This is something I never understand from Apple, and it always drives me crazy.

What's the reason? I can't believe that two billion-worth company isn't prepared for launching the products. If they do this to create a hype, it is such a silly tactic.

I ordered in Germany 25 minutes after release, I've yet to receive it. It's supposedly to be delivered on the 15 december.

That's ordering 25 M-I-N-U-T-E-S after release, on the 6th of November.

First time you ordered an apple product on launch day? 25 minutes...that’s pretty late.

I totally underestimated how quickly they would go. Ideally I should have been ready to go the second they went live.

Comments are more informative than article, concerning customer pick ups and other store options MR must of overlooked???

Nope, ordered a bunch of release day products for many years.

I had a phone to order from Apple first, in another countrys Apple Online Store.

Anyway, getting a seven week delivery time for an order placed 25 minutes after release is bad handling by Apple.

Would you like them to lie to you and say 3 weeks, plus if you ordered 25 min after launch you did not get 7 week delivery time. That’s just a lie
