The availability of HomePod mini is now at its lowest since Apple's new smart speaker went on sale last month, with shipping times across Europe having already slipped into next year in many cases.

homepodminicolors.jpg

In the United Kingdom, France, and Spain, for example, the delivery time for a HomePod mini ordered today in either space gray or white is as long as five to six weeks, and in Germany has even slipped to between six and seven weeks, taking shipping into mid-January.

In fact, with the exception of the U.S. and India, global stocks of HomePod mini are so low right now that anyone seeking one for a holiday gift who has yet to get an order in is very likely going to be disappointed.

Wait times in the Asia Pacific region are less consistently pronounced but still relatively long, with HomePod mini shipping times in the first wave of launching countries, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia, ranging between four and six weeks. As mentioned, one exception in Asia is India, where customers can have either color of HomePod mini shipped to their door in seven to 10 business days.

In Canada, the space gray model takes four to five weeks to arrive when an order is placed today, but the wait time for the white HomePod mini is five to six weeks. Apple's home base in the United States remains the best place to still pick up one of the speakers for the holiday season, with delivery times in the region of two to four weeks, depending on color choice.

Costing $349 at launch, the original 2018 HomePod was considered by many to be too expensive compared to rival products and it failed to capture a significant portion of the smart speaker market. To improve sales, Apple in 2019 cut the price of the ‌HomePod‌ to $299, and still sells the device alongside its smaller $99 siblings, which appear already to be on a more positive track, based on their initial reception.

HomePod mini launched first in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the United States, with a launch to follow in China, Mexico, and Taiwan later this year. In many countries, HomePod mini orders are limited to two per customer.

You can get it in like three days from BestBuy in the US.

Nope, ordered a bunch of release day products for many years.

I had a phone to order from Apple first, in another countrys Apple Online Store.

Anyway, getting a seven week delivery time for an order placed 25 minutes after release is bad handling by Apple.
Are you in the US? Because i ordered a white one almost 40 minutes after release and got it on the 18th of November...

All that waiting and they are probably a load of crap anyway.

As far as i can tell
from searching online they have that boxed in sound just like the original HomePod, no tone or treble, just loads of base.
So what you’re really saying, is you’re projecting your opinion on the Mini that you have no absolutely no experience with, other “than a load of crap”. I wouldn’t take your post into consideration whatsoever and holds no value.

Is it common for industry, that after launching the product, the delivery slots are for the next two months? This is something I never understand from Apple, and it always drives me crazy.

What's the reason? I can't believe that two billion-worth company isn't prepared for launching the products. If they do this to create a hype, it is such a silly tactic.
Apple has various silly tactics, such as closing down the online store before product announcements. It's obvious that they underproduce products to create hype and drive more people to buy them no matter what the waiting time is. Note that the HomePod isn't even available worldwide as is the iPhone or Mac, it's sold only in a handful of countries.

Would you like them to lie to you and say 3 weeks, plus if you ordered 25 min after launch you did not get 7 week delivery time. That’s just a lie

Of course not, who would?

I would prefer that Apple had a decent production line and that they would hold the release of a product until they have a decent amount of items to deliver. Like @R.Patrick was mentioning.

It's just bad for everyone when they release a product and can't deliver properly.

So you haven’t tried the product?

I got one initially for my kitchen, I was actually quite surprised of the sound, yeah not as good as the original HomePod but it’s very good quality sound for its size with rich bass, great highs and no distortion.

In my opinion it is a great little speaker, so much so I got a second one to make a stereo pair.

The only issue I have with it is that siri seems too quiet based off the set volume, when I set the speaker to 75% siri sound like it’s more like 50% or lower... I think this is a bug which will likely get fixed in a future update.

Exactly, and that is also really strange. The HomePod has been on the market for almost three years and STILL not available world wide.

Should reduce the full-size price to £/$200 permanently. That's what I bought mine at - worth it then.
I 100% agree with this... I am waiting for Black Friday to hopefully see it drop to it’s summer price (I think that it will) as I want a stereo pair in my living room.

When I bought my last one, I got it from Very and not only did I only pay £200 I had a 10% back voucher code, where you get £20 back after a month or so, so technically I only paid £180 for it, that was a bargain!

I have 4 HomePods throughout my home and they sound great, recently got a mini for my bathroom but it’s disappointing (to me anyways). Thinking about returning it and grabbing another regular homepod when they inevitably go on sale for $199 again
Clearly not my business but how many do you really need and why the bathroom?

Actually that's not true. If there is anything the mini has loads of it is NOT bass. There is almost no bass because of the small size. There is treble and some mid and bass, it's balanced but not bottom heavy. They sound good for what they are. I like mine and have been using them regularly, though not for music.

I bought one & then decided I wanted a second one. I paired them up & realized I wanted the original. I split the pair & moved one to our daughter's loft & one into our bathroom. I'm moving from a WonderBoom in the shower, so this is definitely an upgrade, as I now have voice control for music.

I agree. The sound is good. The biggest problem is how quiet they are, and how muddy the audio sounds.

Yes, they are very quiet, especially siri. I have to turn mine up to 75% to get decent volume for music And if you tell Siri to raise her volume, it doesn't stick. Hopefully they will fix that.

Love how everyone knows how apple should do things, pretty sure they know exactly what they are doing.
the best is when people say if apple doesn’t do something they are going to android, might be true but they come right back to apple.
