Something is going on. My minis have been continuously disconnecting recently and have been unusable for Homekit devices. My wife wants me to reconnect our Echos. Crossing fingers for an update soon. Mine are on 14.6.
I have also been having issues with my mini and the 2 HomePods when I airplay from my Mac. The HomePods hooked up to the Apple TV as a stereo pair work fine, but for some reason, when playing music and sending it to them from my MacBook Air they lag/disconnect all the time.

Oh and Siri is just getting dumber! but i would say the same for google nest hubs, Google half the time doesn't pick up the hey/ok google command. Google is also getting dumber with it starting music in a different unit in a different room sometimes different floor lol! oh and can't understand half the commands and does something random! lol!
Ditto for Alexa. I’ve got six Alexa (Echo) devices. All the hardware is pretty good, except for the Show 5 1st gen., but Alexa is as dumb as dirt. Occasionally they smarten her up a bit, but then she returns to being a moron with the next update! All these so-called AI systems seem more like Artificial Ignorance than Artificial Intelligence.

Everybody having a problem please call Apple support and report this issue. They claim they aren’t getting enough official reports of the problem. I just got off the phone with then and they are aware of this post on macrumors and other sites but without a mass call campaign of everyone affected they have no incentive to help.

Having to call sucks, Apple should be logging connection issues.

All 4 of my HomePods are having issues 3 minis and an original. All after iOS 15 beta Playing music they pause every 7 seconds for 1-2 seconds And yes I left feedback asap with videos of the pausing It’s so annoying Having other issues two where they are just unpairing
Is that when quality is set to lossless? If so, I had the same issue. Normal quality is fine.

This isn't good...Apple get your stuff together and get a fix out.
Indeed.
Honestly shouldn’t be focussing on Reddit uses they just love to complain but no real good troubleshooting put into posts.

example

I have a total of 19 HomePods at home. 6 of them are on Beta and the others on 14.6. As of today, 7 are no longer working. 4 on the beta and 3 on 14.6.

6+7+4 = 17 what happened to the other 2?
are 6 on beta but another 7 are??! Doesn’t make clear sense here.

that said this is a beta as such shouldn’t be complained about too much but reported with proper troubleshooting up towards Apple.

have your HomePods been updated to the beta or is it use your iPhone or Mac or iPad? Need more detail specifically this is how troubleshooting works right now there’s a lot of holes or unknowns to others.

I had this happen to one of my HomePods too. I took it in for repair and they said all they could do was sell me a new HomePod Mini. Furious, I walked away and let them recycle my dead HomePod. If there turns out to be a fix for this with a future update, I’ll follow up with a replacement for sure.

A speaker should be lasting 5-10 years. Especially one priced in the premium range the OG HomePod was. I have two and am worried when one fails I’ll be SOL with my stereo pair as Apple won’t have any stock to replace it. I’ve had one die on me before that was constantly hot for no reason.

That’s a ridiculous amount of money to spend on not very good speakers lol. For that money, you could have a tremendous hifi system that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end.

Yeah - I have 2 HomePods in stereo mode, and they’re quite good for listening on a causal audiophile level, but 19 HomePods works out to just over $6K USD. You could buy 2 Martin Logan Electromotions, and a NAIM XS 3 amp for that price. One hell of a system indeed!

I bought one from Apple about 2 months ago. After owning it for about 40 days, I upgraded it to 14.6. It bricked it and gave it the red pulsing volume buttons and was unresponsive. I took it to Apple and they told me it would be $270 to repair it. So it became trash in less than 2 months.

Very true. I have a stereo pair and I´m very concerned as well. This shouldn´t be happening.

Yeah everyone needs to follow this advice! I am still waiting for the engineering team to get back about my case - I just checked in with the senior analyst on my case and mentioned now that all the apple sites are reporting on this issue for OS 14.6 and 15. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they start changing their stance on replacements.

And the warranty?

That doesn't sound accurate. If you bought it from apple 2 months ago it will still have 10 months of warranty coverage remaining - which means no replacement fee.

I’ve been reading that most people in this thread seem to have trouble with them either doing nothing or stereo-paired with an AppleTV. I have mine paired to a Mac mini. I haven’t personally noticed anything yet, but I definitely won’t be plugging them back in.
