You guys are funny. Everyone acts like their phone is on it's own little trip across the country to their front door; "My phone is on the plane!" There are pallets full of phones headed out to regional sorting and distribution centers around the country. Each is scanned individually, but there will be large numbers of them travelling together tonight by plane and truck. But rest easy, your little phone will find it's own way to your door by tomorrow, as will mine.

Geez, can you imagine how many iPhones are piled up in Kentucky this afternoon?

Hang in there. Pass some time tonight watching the Cardinals and Brewers.

Nope. I'll watch my Rangers in 20 minutes or so then dinner and off to bed to count fluffy white iPhone 4Ss leaping over fences in a meadow... ;)

Yea Im in PA right over the MD border. The closest flight is NY

it might be that it is being transported by freight, because when I checked my tracking info, ( I'm in Maryland) on packagetrackr, it says that is in a transporter and not on a flight.

so somewhat related....does UPS post estimated delivery times on the tracking page?

When it cleared the import scan my tracking app on iOS showed an actually delivery date, so they must convey it somewhere.

Finally got a departure scan...

  • Louisville, KY, United States 10/13/2011 3:54 P.M. Departure Scan
  • 10/13/2011 7:46 A.M. Import Scan
  • Louisville, KY, United States 10/12/2011 9:28 A.M. Arrival Scan
Looks like it may be going thru Reagan instead of Dulles (or going to some other dumb city first)...

It's probably already on the way to the next hub.

Their system won't update until like 9pm EST tonight (or later)

It may already BE on a pallet in your local hub by now.

What do you mean? I thought My phone was on it's own airplane, sitting in First Class while the young Flight Attendant with the model looks asked Siri "Can I get you anything else?"

I'm just disappointed that it's just in a palette amongst thousands of others! Next time I'll pay the extra $10 for shipping, no more of these free shipping stuff!

Mine has finally departed KY and headed to LAX!
(I believe on flight 2920)
I can't wait till I check the status and it says "On the truck for delivery"!!!!
:D

The wife's phone showed up in KY two days before mine.

They both left KY at 352, heading' for home.

We're such :apple: dorks w/ dirty nerdy minds that think alike. ;)

I am really wondering how they are going to make it from KY to California, to the distribution site, to delivery by tomorrow... Unless they have 2 sets of trucks geared for tomorrow. Usually they are on the truck and out for delivery by 10:00a.

Curious, but not really concerned...

I have another unrelated item that is supposed to arrive tomorrow as well, and it is still in PA... so I will wait and see.

You've clearly never used Amazon Prime. Free two-day shipping/one day in most cases for west coast.

Mine departed Louisville at 4:24PM EDT. I didn't see a corresponding flight, but since I'm in Chicago, it's probably moving by ground since it's only a 6 hour drive.

No all it will say is arrived at destination , then out for delivery. I think they have up until 7:0 or 8:00 pm
Conflicting info on the UPS tracking page though...just to the right of my tracking info is a link for "Shipped By UPS Worldwide Express" that seems to point to a 10:30am delivery. However I just called UPS and they say that it will be by end of day...though the rep could give me no reason why this is referenced on the page if it doesn't apply!
